| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 3, 2007 Bottle. Pours a clear, golden amber with a big, lasting off-white/yellowish head. Nice lacing. Dryish hoppy aroma on a malty background. Flavour is sweet and hoppy with lots of malt. Wooden notes. Bitter licorice finish with lingering apple notes. Notes of alcohol. Faint milky notes appear as it warms. Fair, but I’ve had better IPA’s. 04-08-07. Furseth (1328), Kungälv, Sweden

New copper pipe and orange-colored, with a medium and lasting head. Grapefruit-pine and cereal nose. Flavors of citrus-resin balanced well by sweet barley-oat cereal, malted goodness. Mmmm, yummy. Palate is almost medium bodied and mostly smooth with a slight dry-bitter grass finish. Awesome. Much better than the APA. I could drink this stuff all day. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 31, 2007 Was glad to see Sierra Nevada’s IPA in. I wanted to try this once before but the supplier ran out. Got a sixer. Murky orange with orange head. Medium mouthfeel leaving a slick palate. slight lacing. All bitter, very low malt profile. Conditioning was not harsh, but a little too "active." This’ll put a ding in the drinkability for me. Good beer, a little under what I expected; so I’ll have to be careful to not bias my rating. Easy to get buzzed on. After finishing the sixer over a few days, I do think this is very drinkable... jarspag (594), Los Angeles, California, USA

Dark orange, thin fizzy head. Oak and apple and alittle whisky on the nose. Taste is very different - extremely hoppy, buttery malt, and some alcohol. Alas the hops dominate and the hops are drowned - unbalanced. I was hoping Sierra Nevada wouldn’t catch the US ’IPA’ disease, but alas they have.
