| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 14, 2007 Poured into a shaker glass with a deep amber colour. Piney citrusy aroma. Flavour: good hoppy taste would preferred hoppier, but it was a good IPA choice. merlin48 (511), New Tazewell, Tennessee, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 13, 2007 Medium orange body is topped by a small offwhite head that leaves average lacing. Aroma is mostly hops-grapefruit and pine. Caramel in the background. Taste is dominated by hop bitterness, but comes off well balanced for style, overall. Hops are raw and earthy for the most part but are backed up an ample malt bill. Jwasciuk (194), Lowell, Michigan, USA

Aroma is of carmel, cookies, heavy grapefruit, slight lemon and lightly yeasty. Flavor starts surprisingly well balanced has a nice malty backbone not to agressavly hopped. Light to medium bodied, watery yet creamy. auto (161), California, USA

| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Apr 10, 2007 This may be the worst IPA I have ever had. Maybe I just got a bad batch, because I can’t believe this is ranking in the mid 70s percentile. Bottle... Poured a honey/amber tone with a vibrant, white head. Kind of a gross yeasty, malty aroma which is so unusual for this style. Bland palate, and too much malt and grain flavors, I barely got any hops. Just way too tart and not enough to carry it’s weight. It tasted more like an amber ale or an ESB... Go with their Pale Ale, it’s more IPA than this one. jb (1034), Rochester, New York, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 9, 2007 Nice looking dark copper with thick head with great retention. Not a super bitter IPA, a very nice balance of malt and hop. A bit nutty, plenty of character. I’d still prefer the pale ale. troopie (863), USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 8, 2007 This beer is misnamed. It is more of an amber ale than an IPA. Mild aroma of malt with a little hoppiness. Somewhat hoppy taste without the big hoppiness of an IPA or medium hoppiness of a Cape Ale. I wouldn’t call the finish soapy, more like slippery with a little bitterness. ilovedarkbeer (1333), Dallas, Texas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 8, 2007 Pours a deep amber color darker than most IPAs. Has hoppy taste with with a foamy white head. Aftertaste is very soapy. Not a very good IPA.
