| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 28, 2007 Bottle of the ’07. Good looking beer, but a little lacking in head. Aroma has a hint of brown sugar and fruit. Palate is a bit thin, but, all in all, it is pretty tasty and easy drinking. rmussman (905), California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 28, 2007 A disappointment. I had high expectations for this Sierra Nevada however i was greatly disappointed. Not up to their standard. Flavor is weak and appearance is nothing to be impressed by with very little head. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 27, 2007 Pours a light copper color with a thin white head. Smells of caramel malt and pineapple hops. Flavor has more malt to it than hops. I would classify this as an English IPA. Earthy hops in the backend with balancing bitterness. I prefer the Pale Ale from these guys. I would have liked more of a hoppy taste. duffman462 (160), Gainesville, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 27, 2007 Light amber color with a small head. Nose is lots of caramel and hops. Despite the big malt body, the hops really come through in this one. Wegro (220), Fresno, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 27, 2007 2007 bottle. Pours a great clear amber with a medium to small white-ish head. Not a huge hop aroma but it is there. Tastes a lot like the pale ale, a little more bitter. Great malt balance in this one. IF you like the pale ale, give this a try. it’s not going to knock your socks off with hops and it’s understood that this is an english style IPA, but it’s definitely a good one. Would make a good session beer. freekyp (900), Thomasville, North Carolina, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 26, 2007 The dry hopping is very obvious in this brew, which finishes with muted, but amply bitter, long finish. The hopsnever seem to overrun the flavor and take play on the bittering characterists of the beer much more than the aroma. The aroma, while clean and lightly resiny, also tells of a cereal grainy character. If an IPA could be called balanced, this one would be. Throughout most of the glass the hops are present, but more akin to a bitter than an IPA. At the tail end of the swallow they come forth and lay am ample coating of bitterness on the sides of the tongue that stays long after the rest of the flavors have faded into a restful sleep. Easily a great BBQ beer, but watch the well hidden alcohol content, which could sneak up on you.
