12 oz bottle, nyc, 2007 variety. I purchased this one morning after a long night. The last thing I wanted was a beer, but there it was, SN’s annual IPA. Great deep orange cloudiness you desire from a quality ipa. Piney, citrus hops. delicious seasonal brew.

LIght amber/copper body, with an off-white head. Somewhat sporadic lacing. The aroma was mostly of lemony hops and sweet malts, but it was only present right after the pour (after that, it was very difficult to find). The initial taste was a good balance of sweet malts and lemony hops, but the finish was purely bitter hops. The carbonation was good, and the beer went down very smoothly. This is a very drinkable beer, but I think the bitter finish is a little too "soapy."

I will admit right off the bat that this beer was out on my porch for much of the evening in 10 degree F Wisconsin weather, so when I grabbed a bottle, it had some ice chips in it. Still, the beer was very good, so I’ll proceed with the review. Good floral nose, spicy hop aroma. Average mouthfeel (besides the aforementioned ice chips!). No citrus flavor that I often associate with IPAs, but rather the tell-tale oily spice of an APA. It could have been the freezing, but this one just didn’t do it as an IPA. Was it a good beer? Oh yeah. But I agree with the previous rater in that this ale is not very hoppy at all. Still, well worth the purchase.

I enjoyed this. They weren’t trying to go hoppy here, but I think the flavors meld together nicely. Floral, vegetal, and lemon aromas. Flavors are nice and this keeps me interested. Very good rendition here. Sierra Nevada does not disappoint. Some might be disappointed that this isn’t as hoppy as they hoped for. But it is what it is, a good english style IPA.

Bottle...amber color...taste is simply unbalanced ...aroma is faint and just beer-like...nothing special what-so-ever... ..basically a dash here and a dash there...a dash of hop not properly influenced by the malt that should blanket it so gently....and a dash of, oh well won’t buy again thats all...:)...drink on ....drink on.....just not this

Very little aroma to speak of, pours an amber color, with a little cloudiness and virtually no head. The flavor is of hops and bitterness. Very little finish, but a decent session IPA.

Bottle. Hoppy, alcohol is almost an after scent. Simple, too simple. Pale copper, crystal clear. Had pale head with larger bubbles. Interresting patterns, splotchy lacing. Taste is ver light for an IPA. Light oak. Light tanggy start. Lacks a dry finish. It’s an okay beer, but not a good IPA.

2007. This has finally made it my way, and I feel its a pretty nice beer - an excellent choice for everyday drinking. Starts with a pleasing citric, almost lemony hop nose. Malts are in the background, a touch of cookies and bread. Not a bunch of hop flavors but a good solid whack of bitterness in the finish. Dry.
