Hoss (602), Florida, USA Feb 28, 2006 I was immpressed and surprised when I saw this at my local outlet here in Florida. It somehow seems appropiate that SN puts out it’s own version of IPA. It is a good one, nothing special yet well put together. Bitter finish is strong, I suspect that if the Brits had our Hops this is what it would have tasted like. wheninhell (485), louisville, Kentucky, USA Feb 27, 2006 pours amber with small white head. big piney hop aroma. big hoppy bitterness throughout with a small amount of malt. very bitter finish. reminds me more of an esb than an ipa. solid beer but there are a lot better ipas out there. tronraner (1905), Maryville, Tennessee, USA Feb 26, 2006 Bottle. Pours reddish gold apple juice color with small, but rocky, white head. Lots of fast rising bubbles in the glass. The aroma is mostly grassy hops, with a bit of toast and just a hint of chemicals. The flavor has a great deal of toast and coarse grain. The hops are mostly bitter, without adding much floral/citrus/pine character, but the nondescript bitterness better accompanies these particular malts anyway. Nice, dry, earthy finish, but a subtle sweetness comes out in the aftertaste. Not too bad. dhlesq (233), Thousand Oaks, California, USA Feb 26, 2006 Aroma of tangerine and flowers. Appears a crystail clear copper color with slight effervescence of large bubbles, and with no head. Flavor is pithy and bitter with a good malt backbone. Palate is medium heavy and slick. Overall, a very good beer and equal to the some of its parts. pinkzambia (986), Boise, Idaho, USA Feb 26, 2006 Bottle: Yummy! Sierra Nevada has always produced great beer. This copper colored brew has aromas and tastes of flowery hops providing the consumer with a great bitter finish. This is one of those ones that you would consider a regular in the fridge. thornecb (1735), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA Feb 26, 2006 Pours a light amber into a shaker. Nice conglomerate head with good staying power. -- lacing as it recedes. Slightly sour aroma. Bitter up front with a flat, long-lasting malty finish -- slightly sweet aftertaste. smcd (366), USA Feb 26, 2006 This is a nice beer and it is a good thing that it is being produced in bottles -- although it does, indeed, remove some of the mystery surrounding a visit to the brewery in Chico.
Nice, big creamy off-white head which lingers and laces the glass all the way down. Crystal clear, orange/amber. Not as hoppy on the nose as one would expect though, but classic Northern California citrus, resin, and floral notes are definitely present. Nice maltiness and medium-body. Not as bitter as one would expect for an IPA either, but well-balanced and definitely pleasantly hoppy. A good beer. Easy drinking. Could have a couple. 1FastSTi (2551), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA Feb 26, 2006 Keg:Pours to a huge creamy and very dense off-white head atop a deep amber colored body. Awesome lacing. The flavor is very fresh and crisp. Malty and hoppy. Bitter PNW hops. Toasted malts. The beer has a clean, medium-bodied mouthfeel, light-medium bitterness. The aroma is muddled amongst the surroundings. A very good IPA. Amarillo hops?
