COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed using a blend of English malts. Magnum hops are used for the early hop addition, with Goldings for finishing and dry hopping. A very flavorful and hoppy ale.

Note: This beer is no longer made and has not been bottled for a few years now. It was replaced by Torpedo.

355ml bottle. Dark orange, thin fizzy head. Oak and apple and alittle whisky on the nose. Taste is very different - extremely hoppy, buttery malt, and some alcohol. Alas the hops dominate and the hops are drowned - unbalanced. I was hoping Sierra Nevada wouldn’t catch the US ’IPA’ disease, but alas they have.

Tasting Notes from Fall 2000: Good bitterness - hops control the flavor, and that’s quite OK with me

Bottle poured a clear copper with a large, lasting off-white head. Aromas of carmel, bread and earthy hops. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of carmel and earthy hops with a lingering bitter finish. Celebration is MUCH better!

Cask at the Great British Beer Festival 2007: Orange with a small but lasting off-white head. Pine, grapefruit, grass aroma. Sweet with a perfectly balancing bitterness. Juicy, drinkable IPA.

Bottle, bought @ Barley Wine, Cph. Pours a pretty, clear, orangey amber with a small fluffy off-white head. Aroma is mild, some citric hops and caramel background. Nice and creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is well bitter and dry with pine, slight fruityness and a nice medium caramel sweetness at the back. Nice.

courtesy of Tony Flükiger; 2007 vintage - hazy red-orange colour with a poor foam left; oily hoppy nose showing notes of peach and melon; medium-bodied and with a moderate carbonation; slightly oily palate but finishes very dry and very bitter; long fruity and flowery hoppy finish

Bottled. LIght amber coloured. Unclear. Ligth beige head. Quite skunky and metallic aroma. Some herbal notes. Flowers, sweetness and light citrusnotes in the flavour. Meidum bodied. Dry. Bitter in the end.

On draught at Barley’s Smokehouse, a relatively new entry in the local market. Deep amber color with a thin and dense off-white head. Thin spotty lacing. Aroma of bready malt and mild hops. Medium, creamy body with honey and caramel flavor as well as toned-down hops. Citrus notes here and there as well. Decent enough but nothing really resonates. The finish is dry and mildly bitter citrusy hops. While not bad, Sierra Nevada can clearly do better than this.
