Aroma is pine and sweet citrus. Nice balanced taste that ends with a lingering hop. This is a good everyday IPA when it’s available. larsam (127), Southampton, Bedfordshire, England

I was fairly impressed with this brew. Good amout of resinous hops and a carmelly malt sweetness to back it up. Another great brew from Sierra. hopdog (5631), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 18, 2007 This beer pours a rich orange color with a small white head leaving some lacing down the sides. So far I have never been let down by a sierra nevada beer and this is no exception! This a beer in the classic style of an ipa that I will be buying again! Nice balance of hops giving it that traditional hoppy flavor with a good amount of hops to balance it out. Cheers! Bockyhorsey (2561), Mesa, Arizona, USA

Yes, this doesnt have the tipical over the top ’hophead’ aroma and flavor that we have come to expect from the west (Avery, Alesmith, Stone), but i cant say i didnt enjoy this brew. As it says on label, this is brewed in the english tradition of ipa’s which concentrates more on the malts as oppose to the hops. wonderful ruby colour with a small off-white head. flavor is sweet and malty with a nice hop overtone that i think really hits the spot. a refreshing break from the west coast hopmonsters i must admit i enjoy, but do not need to have everytime.
