Not what i expected when i picked up a sixer, but a really nice beer. Sierra Nevada’s Pale Ale is one of my favorites, and I was expecting the ipa to be very hoppy. Instead it is more similar, in my opinion, to a British IPA, not overly bitter, with a nice balance between malt and hops. As much as I love "extreme" beer and most highly hopped american ipas it is nice to enjoy a beer that is truly representative of the style and does not rely on a gimmick or absurdly high hop levels.

"this one falls into the "standard" catergory of Sierra Nevada Beers, the aroma and flavor one expects from a good ipa are lacking, and you can’t help but notice a similar hop profile as several other SN beers."

Very nice IPA, doesn’t wallop you over the head with hops, but you definitely know they’re there. Good character, bitter finish

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Coper beer, exaggerated amount of carbonic gas, big and unstable head. Citric aromas are felt, not too much from the malt is perceived. Flavor with some caramel and citric notes, not really bitter at the end.

Very pretty, dark orange color. It wasnt that it was too hoppy, but the hops just came out wrong somehow, not crisp enough maybe. Decent, but I would take the pale ale over this any day.

Decent IPA. Good for IPA the novice, it has a classic ipa taste without being too hoppy. Easy drinkability.

A decent starter IPA but you will soon learn there are better out there. Sierra Nevada’s pale ale is better

More than drinkable IPA, but lacks the body to be a really great real ale.

Bottle 355ml. A clear golden colour with an off-white head. An aroma of malt, caramel and hops. The taste is sweet and light bitter. A medium body, oily texture, average carbonation and a long dry finish.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
A nice spicey hops bite, more so than the regular Pale Ale, and not quite as floral. I definitely recommend trying it if you like IPAs.
