3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours with a frothy, one-finger thick, light tan colored head that has a bit of staying power. The beer is quite clear and a reddish-tinged full copper color. The aroma has a nice, though subtle, lightly toasted malt note to it and a hint of crystal malt like caramel in the finish. Of course the aroma is quite hoppy with notes of pine, oranges. The aroma is somewhat subtle, and not all that typically aromatic, for a modern American IPA, but it is quite nice and exactly what I expect from Sierra Nevada.
This beer has a solid, almost disproportionate bitterness up front as soon as this beer hits my tongue. The bitterness continues through to the finish where it lingers on for some time. I think that the spicy fried rice that I just had is affecting my perception of the bitterness. There is a hint of citrus character, but just a touch, mostly there is an almost minty-like herbal note and some pine-like flavors as well. At other times this beer has been much more aromatic & hop flavorful that it is right now, though this is the first time I have had this out of the bottle and I wonder if that is effecting things. All in all this is pretty enjoyable, and it is certainly aggressively hopped.

Very pretty, dark orange color. It wasnt that it was too hoppy, but the hops just came out wrong somehow, not crisp enough maybe. Decent, but I would take the pale ale over this any day.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Decent IPA. Good for IPA the novice, it has a classic ipa taste without being too hoppy. Easy drinkability.

A decent starter IPA but you will soon learn there are better out there. Sierra Nevadaís pale ale is better

More than drinkable IPA, but lacks the body to be a really great real ale.

Bottle 355ml. A clear golden colour with an off-white head. An aroma of malt, caramel and hops. The taste is sweet and light bitter. A medium body, oily texture, average carbonation and a long dry finish.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
A nice spicey hops bite, more so than the regular Pale Ale, and not quite as floral. I definitely recommend trying it if you like IPAs.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Clear dark amber pour with just a little haze at the center and and a thin tan head. Aroma of toasted malt and a hint of lemon. Very restrained hop presence in the flavor. Mostly bready, metallic and nutty with some citrus, toffee and light caramel. Crisp texture and a drying, slightly bitter finish. Not your typical West Coast hop bomb by any means but not what they were going after with this brew.

I had to be nice and at least rate this beer as a 1... this was the worst beer Iíve ever had, I ended up pouring it down the kitchen sink drain. I guess Iím just not an IPA fan.... to each his own.

A great big hop aroma and taste. The finish is a bold pine and alcohol blend. It has a very english taste. I like it. I was surprised to see the Alcohol was only 6.9 %.
