Kellerweis is one of the only American Hefeweizens made using the traditional Bavarian style of open fermentation. This difficult and labor-intensive technique adds uncommon depth and flavor complexity. Our hazy-golden hefeweizen is deeply flavorful, refreshing and perfect for a sunny day. To serve, pour two-thirds into a glass, swirl and pour the rest.

Opaque light gold, almost milky - medium white head. Peppery cloves and some barnyard yeast on the nose, almost like a saison. Spicy, sour and sweet notes, some yeast, some light banana. Finishes refreshing, rich and a bit sour. Very nice.

Bottle: Dense, bright, hazy yellow body, opaque & topped with a creamy, frothy white head that lasts for days. Aroma full of wheat, baked bread, clumpy yeast, clove, a hint of banana esters, faint pear, straw, maybe even a touch of mint. Flavor follows through exactly with amplified notes of clove, biscuits, banana bread, bubble gum, mint, grass, mild pear skin. Nice finish of clove, bread, a soft blanket of wheat, & a chunky yeast finish. Good body, just on the edge of chewy but still remaining very drinkable. I’ve always enjoyed this beer, really good take on a German hefe.

Pours hazy golden yellow with a white head. Aroma of classic german sweet esters which brings you subtle banana notes, sweet orange, weak bubblegum, some floral notes and weak hoppy notes. The taste is also rather sweet and refreshing with a more hoppy profile along with those sweet esters, some citrus, banana and orange. Very refreshing and a nice take on the style!

12 oz bottle to tulip. Pours cloudy blonde. Aroma of banana, light clove, orange and mango. Taste is juicy fruit, tropical, sweet malts and a little floral hop bitterness.

Reading some reviews you might think this tastes like a German hefe. It doesn’t. At least this bottle didn’t. The haziest beer I’ve seen due to suspended particulate matter. The blonde color is spot on. The aromas and flavors barely hint at the clove and banana elements characteristic of actual hefe. Not a bad beer but very disappointing when measured against what I was expecting. This is no Ayinger Ur-Weisse. I would not buy this again.

Hefeweizen one of my least favorite styles yet I can appreciate the quality brew that this is. Bit of weizenbock characteristics in this but in a more approachable form. Well done. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured from a 12 oz bottle. Aroma is grainy and sweet. Wonderful Hefeweizen taste with hints of banana , clove, and vanilla. Just a slight hint of sourness on the backend. Bitterness was perfect, well balanced just like a traditional Hefeweizen should be.

Bottle. Cloudy-yellow color with good and noisy foam. Aroma: cloves, wheat and fruits with soap. Taste: banana, juicy, clove, lively carbonation, tasty weizen.

This 12oz bottle was bottled on 30th December 2014 and poured into a Duvel tulip glass. The beer poured a very hazy straw gold colour with two finger white head that dissipated quickly leaving behind thin but nice lacing. There were earthy wheaty aromas with orange, banana and cloves poking through. Taste was mainly of ripe banana and bready wheaty malts with hints of citrus and a touch of hoppiness at the end. It was light bodied with medium carbonation and a dry finish. Overall this isn’t the best hefe that I’ve tried, but its certainly up there and a good example of one. Its very easy to drink and I would definitely consider this during the hot summers.

From bottle in weizen. Cloudy and golden with beautiful head. Hints of clove and spice on the nose and palate. Quite a smooth hefe...one of the best I’ve had.
