Kellerweis is one of the only American Hefeweizens made using the traditional Bavarian style of open fermentation. This difficult and labor-intensive technique adds uncommon depth and flavor complexity. Our hazy-golden hefeweizen is deeply flavorful, refreshing and perfect for a sunny day. To serve, pour two-thirds into a glass, swirl and pour the rest.

12 oz. bottle from Best Damn Beer Shop. Nose of yeast subtle spices and hay. Gentle Belgian spice overtone (citrus, coriander and cloves) is almost understated against a bready wheat malt base for a light and very creamy hefe. All the way to the dry finish it’s never over the top. Exceptionally smooth, balanced, tasty and drinkable.

Cloudy (almost opaque when first poured) bright straw-colour with diminishing head and no legs. Smells quite fresh - lots of orange, banana, light phenols (clove, spice, yeast), wheat, bready malt, bubblegum/potpourri. Aroma is more sweet and less spicy than typical hefes. Taste is similarly sweet, spicy, wheat/pale malts. Body is light and very creamy. Fizzy. Very drinkable, quite sweet. I like that the palate is velvety smooth rather than aggressively frothy/spicy.
