Kellerweis is one of the only American Hefeweizens made using the traditional Bavarian style of open fermentation. This difficult and labor-intensive technique adds uncommon depth and flavor complexity. Our hazy-golden hefeweizen is deeply flavorful, refreshing and perfect for a sunny day. To serve, pour two-thirds into a glass, swirl and pour the rest.

Bottle. Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Yellow colour. Light malty and hoppy aroma. Moderate yeasty esters, especially mango and banana. MOderate bitter flavor. Average moderate bitter finish. Oily palate but way too fizzy. OK Hefe but no way near 3.6 score!!!!!

A cloudy golden beer with a nice head & a lot of carbonation. The aroma had banana as did the taste with some bready qualities that was a little watery in the finish. A refresher.

Bottled. Poured pretty cloudy. Spicy bananas etc. Pretty well done for an american made hefe.

Pours a cloudy orange color with a thick off-white head. Spicy aroma with hints of banana, clove, and some wheat. Strong taste of banana. With a bitter aftertaste and some hints of hops and some yeast. It is a pretty good Hefeweizen overall.

Bottle. Poured a cloudy pale orange-yellow color with an inch thick, fluffy off-white head that slowly receded and left some spotty lacing. Moderately spicy aroma with hints of clove, nutmeg, and wheat paired with some ripe banana, faint orange peel, light bubble gum, and some soft doughy yeast. Smooth, moderately crispy entry with some light wheat and a bit of orange leads into a moderately spicy middle with hints of clove and banana that lead into a lightly bitter finish with some soft hints of grassy hops and a faint yeastiness. Moderate carbonation and decent mouth feel. Overall, it’s a decent hefe that you can buy in 6 packs. It shows some promise on the nose, but the flavor doesn’t quite hold up its end of the bargain. Either way, it’s drinkable and enjoyable.

Admittedly, I’m not a huge fan of wheat beers, but this one was a pleasant surprise. And who better for it to come from than Sierra Nevada? It had a really deep flavor with the characteristic wheat aftertaste. It was very enjoyable.

Flaske: Flot orange uklar øl med et kæmpe skumhoved. Dejlig klassisk duft af banan og hvede. Smagen er også banan med et overraskende velhumlet bid. Virkelig en dejlig hefe. Super.

Bottle at Flying Saucer, Houston.
Pours an average thin yellow*orange with a semi-weak aroma of flat vlove and ripe banana. Flavor is lemony banana and clove, with a hint of sweet grass in the finish. Tingly on the tongue. Not bad but not memorable.
