COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Kellerweis is one of the only American Hefeweizens made using the traditional Bavarian style of open fermentation. This difficult and labor-intensive technique adds uncommon depth and flavor complexity. Our hazy-golden hefeweizen is deeply flavorful, refreshing and perfect for a sunny day. To serve, pour two-thirds into a glass, swirl and pour the rest.

12 oz bottle. Aroma: initial whiff: not much here. After letting it sit a minute or so, the aroma reveals notes of banana, wheat. This is a beautiful beer whith great head retention and lacing. Flavor is so authentically Bavarian, I think a native Munich citizen would have difficulty differentiating this from classic German Hefeweizens like Hacker-Pschorr, Paulaner, or Spaten. Tastes like the aroma notes. Somewhat sour aftertaste. Another quality brew from one of America’s greatest breweries.

UPDATED: OCT 13, 2009 Very high quality. The pour shows a very hazy deep yellow beer. Then once you swirl the last bit from the bottle and pour it, the whole glass becomes a deep almost orange yellow masterpiece with a crown of uniform white gold foam. The aroma is very satisfying. Bury your nose into the clouds of summer. The scent is very classic wheat. Not only with the orange and spice, but with an extra layer of flowers and bananas. The taste is truely great. This beer has much more complexity than a normal Hef. First it starts out with a high quality wheat base. Very thoughtfully brewed with one intention. Taste. A few of the hints and undertones you can look forward to are: orange peel, lemon peel, flowers, bananas, light clover honey, and lavender. All of these flavors work with each other. There is no flavor conflict. This beer is a fine example of what American beer can be.

12 oz. bottle. Colour... cloudy, golden-orange. Nose... quintessential butyl esters yeast, and wheat. Palate... burst of tingly carbonation, plenty of the expected banana, clove, citrus, yeast and wheat. A dead ringer for a hefeweizen from Bayern!

Pours a chalky yellow into the glass with a booming white head. Aroma is unbelievably fresh hefewezen yeast. Lots of spice and banana. Excellent! Flavor is excellent wheat with a citrusy orange note. Some cereal taste. The body is exquisite. High carbonation gives this beer a spritzy body. This will be a staple in my refrigerator from now on!

Pours a hazy straw color. Aroma is funky with lots of pungent yeast in the nose. Flavor is, well, spicy and flawless. Lots of banana and clove funk. Hefty body for a hefeweizen. Finishes dry with plenty of the aroma lingering on the pallet. I am wowed, even for SN.
