COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Kellerweis is one of the only American Hefeweizens made using the traditional Bavarian style of open fermentation. This difficult and labor-intensive technique adds uncommon depth and flavor complexity. Our hazy-golden hefeweizen is deeply flavorful, refreshing and perfect for a sunny day. To serve, pour two-thirds into a glass, swirl and pour the rest.

Spent most of this weekend drinking a 12 pack of this beer, watching college and NFL football and I gotta say it’s a damn fine beer. Either in the bottle or in my glass, it’s just sooo easy to drink. And for $7.00 a sixer, the price is right too.

The beer pours out a medium hazy golden yellow body with a creamy 1" thick head. Aromas are really traditional for the style...lots of banana, cloves, bubblegum with a smidge of yeast. Flavor is light wheat, banana, yeast and bubblegum. Slightly prickly on the toungue, medium bodied...creamy. Very, very nice.

Similar to franziskaner weissbier except the aroma and banana and clove flavors are much weaker.

Bottle and served in my smaller Ayinger glass: Slightly hazy golden hue with a lasting fluffy white head and very good lace. The aroma has notes of traditional hefeweizen esters, banana, clove, yeast, wheat and some grassy vapours. A bit musty as well on the nose. The taste is sweet malt, wheat husk, fruity banana and slight spice upon the short finish. Some acidic twang comes about as it warms. The mouth feel is lively yet still soft, still could have used a tad more body however. Within the frame of the genre this is a solid offering and worthy of a try.

Very smooth. Cloudy yellow. Fairly long lasting filmy head. Didn’t have the distinctive taste of other Hefe’s that I have enjoyed more. But the carbonation was unusually lively, and very drinkable. I would definitely buy again.

12 oz bottle served in a weizen. Pours a hazy pale yellow with a 1/2" off white head. Aroma is classic glove/banana/wheat. Palate is moderate in body, smooth, yet tingely on the tongue. Flavor is clove spice, fruity, mostly banana, and wheat. Classic hefeweizen.

Bottle: Straw color with a light haze and a finger of creamy white head. Nose is wheaty, spices (cloves), and yeast. Some fruity esters. Tastes very smooth into a crisp, tangy wheaty kick with a lighter spice and yeast presence. Very nice. SN scores a hit!

This is absolutely brilliant, beautiful banana sweetness and very refreshing. Another winner from Sierra Nevada for sure.
