3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. This one poured a cloudy yellow color, medium sized white head. Aroma was some grain notes, yeast, lemon citrus character. ABV makes this quite sessionable, very enjoyable to consume. I’d say this is a pretty good representation of a German Hefe, though it’s nowhere near as crafted as some of these guys who have been in the game for centuries, but I’d reach for this in a pinch.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12 oz bottle served in a Paulaner Hefewiess glass. This beer pours a hazy golden-yellow with a tall but somewhat short-lived white head. Some sediment left on the bottom of the bottle.
Banana and clove in the nose, but not as pronounced as in some Bavarian versions, and less ripe banana than in tasting.
M: light body; near medium carbonation.
O: perhaps the first SN beer I don’t want to have again. Not bad and an authentic version of this German style, but it is a style I don’t usually care for.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Ve Ryan much like a Bavarian wizened, full of bread and banana notes. Pours hazy golden with thin creamy head. Full body, heavier mouthfeel. A taste of Germany from California.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
355ml bottle at home. Pours hazy light orange, head good at first, but soon disappears to nothing. Banana and clove aromas, as expected, with some lemonade-y citrus and wheat. Good balance on the whole between the light sweet and light bitter notes. Some yeastiness. High carbonation. Good, but the Germans do it better.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz. bottle. It pours a mostly clear golden orange color with a nice white head and streaming bubbles. The aroma is nice with clove, pepper and lighter notes of bubble gum and under ripe banana. The flavor is strong with wheat, clove and bubblegum in the finish. Full bodied for a lighter beer. Good German character. A go-to beer as a local summer refresher that tastes authentically German.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
A cloudy, light yellow beer with a medium and white head. The nose of wheat, yeast, sourness and some bananas. Taste of wheat, nice fruitesters, some sourness, overally the taste is quite dry. Medium bodied, high carbonation turns this beer a fresh to drink. Nice hefe, strongly wheatish and quite dry.
