Kellerweis is one of the only American Hefeweizens made using the traditional Bavarian style of open fermentation. This difficult and labor-intensive technique adds uncommon depth and flavor complexity. Our hazy-golden hefeweizen is deeply flavorful, refreshing and perfect for a sunny day. To serve, pour two-thirds into a glass, swirl and pour the rest.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass.pours a hazy golden color with a two finger head that leaves some decent lacing. Aroma was of yeast and cloves with faint hints of banana. This beer is very complex with flavors with a velvety smooth full palate taste of yeast some hints of clove and a refreshing finish with banana on the back end ....this is one of my all time favorite heffeweizen’s another great brew from sierra Nevada....cheers

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a weizen glass in late 2013. A: Strangely, almost no head. Lots of cloudy yeast. S: Citrus, cloves. T: Follows nose. Slight bitter aftertaste that quickly fades. M: Smooth. O: This is a great hef. It’s very close to the German hefs, but it does have a slight hoppy edge to it. I enjoyed it.

Poured a hazy, milky light yellow/amber with a frothy white head. Aroma of wheat, bananas and cloves. Light body, flavour as the aroma, well balanced and a good example of the style.

For a hefewizen this was good, but not my style in general. Refreshing and would be good on a hot day.

Pours a beautiful hazy orangish gold with a frothy white head. Aroma of wheat, cloves, bananas in a delicate balance with a hint of sourness in the background. Taste is spicy wheat, cloves phenols and banana esthers, light bubblegum and a complex sourness from the wheat. Excellent American hefeweizen!

pours a murky gold with a decent white whispy lacing head. Aroma is slight hay and good skunk. Tastes bright, full, with a hint of clove or coriander. The spice is still present in the pleasant lingering finish. I really like this beer.

Great yeast aroma. Creamy banana dominates with some clove, but overall not a bitey yeast. Full body. Refreshing light citrus. Raw grain. Nicely balanced, calm and well executed. Drinkable and approachable.
