COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Kellerweis is one of the only American Hefeweizens made using the traditional Bavarian style of open fermentation. This difficult and labor-intensive technique adds uncommon depth and flavor complexity. Our hazy-golden hefeweizen is deeply flavorful, refreshing and perfect for a sunny day. To serve, pour two-thirds into a glass, swirl and pour the rest.

UPDATED: APR 2, 2013 Poured cloudy yellow with almost no head and what there was went away fast. That was disappointing. Checked the expiration date and it was passed. Some lacing. Nose is inviting, traditional. Yeast, banana, a little spice, some bubblegum. It’s very aromatic so I’m hopeful. Taste follows the nose all the way. Low carbonation, smooth, a little citrus hops, a little pepper. Thin and weak. No legs. Frustrating because it had all the right ingredients but it was half hearted and lifeless. A good hefe should be turbid and uplifting. I expected more.

330ml bottle from Vinmonopolet. Tiny tan head. Hazy pale orange body. Aroma is apricot, cloves and banana. Sour and slightly sour on the tongue.

Tap @ Sierra NC. Hazy orangey gold with thick head. Smells citrusy and spicy. Tastes dry and floral with a hint of spice. Heavy feeling.

En Kellerweise en härlig vårkollektion är svårslagen, dricker den i trädgården medan jag väntar på att grillen ska få den rätta glöden.

Not quite clear gold with a fizzy head that fades away to nothing. Sweet wheat aroma with a bit of banana. Taste is similar but weaker with yeast and citrus.

Hazy golden color with big off-white head. Lots of carbonation. Aroma is yeasty, witty and bready, with banana and a little hint of spices. Taste follows the aroma, with banana, bread and a little bit of clove as well. Sweet finish. Good reproduction of the style, but there are a lot better Hefeweizens on the market.

Draft pour at special brews. Poured appropriately into its own individual glassware. Always a good start. Pours a cloudy yellow color with a huge foamy head. Kind of an odd wet dog like aroma. Wish I was kidding. Well, it’s different. I’ll put it that way. Flavor is dry, mild, and mostly empty. The most flavor comes in centuries into the late palate (exaggeration). Soft grains, and mild fruit. Weird beer for me, but what do I know. Not so much for me.

It's good not great. A nice hefe. I'd drink it again but not a style I usually seek out ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. Aroma- Doesn’t smell like a hefeweizen, i get spice and fruit. Appearance- A slightly murky golden color with a small white head. Doesn’t look like a hefeweizen. Taste- Has a nice semi-tart flavor but doesn’t even come close to a hefeweizen stle beer in the flavor department. Palate- A medium bodied beer with moderate carbonation and a dry finish. Overall- Not a bad beer but it is not in the flavor category of a hefeweizen.

Bottle. Nose is cloves, banana, orange, barley (odd), slight wheat. Taste is malt, banana, slight clove, wheat, the strange orange note, leading to a surprisingly bitter note, and a dry yeasty spiced finish. Mouthfeel is too carbonated. This didn’t have the right taste profile for a hefeweizen (though it’s a style in which I am only a dabbler in), and was a bit bland.
