COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Kellerweis is one of the only American Hefeweizens made using the traditional Bavarian style of open fermentation. This difficult and labor-intensive technique adds uncommon depth and flavor complexity. Our hazy-golden hefeweizen is deeply flavorful, refreshing and perfect for a sunny day. To serve, pour two-thirds into a glass, swirl and pour the rest.

UPDATED: APR 2, 2013 Poured cloudy yellow with almost no head and what there was went away fast. That was disappointing. Checked the expiration date and it was passed. Some lacing. Nose is inviting, traditional. Yeast, banana, a little spice, some bubblegum. It’s very aromatic so I’m hopeful. Taste follows the nose all the way. Low carbonation, smooth, a little citrus hops, a little pepper. Thin and weak. No legs. Frustrating because it had all the right ingredients but it was half hearted and lifeless. A good hefe should be turbid and uplifting. I expected more.

Pours with a solid white head. Color is a hazy yellow. Aroma hits your nose with banana and a slit spice. Yeast is traditional Belgium and a bit of funk from the open fermentation. Nice smith summer drink.

Shared a 35,5cl bottle. Pours a cloudy pale yellow colour with a thin white head. Aroma is banana, clove, wheat and lightly yeast. Average carbonation and medium to light body. Taste is well balanced light sweet and light bitter. Overall, a very good refreshing beer.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet Storo enjoyed at home
Orange hazy, big white head. Smell of bubble gum, banana, clove, wheat and light malts. Moderate sweet, fruity, alot of yeast flavors; more bubble gum, hints of citrus and spices. Ends with a moderate bitter finish. Quite descent take on a traditional Hefeweizen

Bottle, Non solo bar, Stockholm. OK, but too pronounced fruity features in the aroma for a Hefeweizen to my taste.

Flaska från bier-deluxe. Gyllenfärgad, grumlig, högt vitt skum. Stor friskt syrlig jästig vetedoft med lite nejlika. Fin frisk mustig smak, mjuk, krämig munkänsla. Smak av vete, curacao, nejlika, jäst, fruktkola, mynta. Fin komplex smakbild, aningen större beska än en hefe och lite åt wit-hållet i smakbilden.

Bottle. Hazy cloudy yellow with a thin white head. They nailed the style on this one. Banana with a hint of clove spice, medium carb, and easy on the palate. Smooth sweet finish. Paired perfectly with sliders on the grill on a hot summer afternoon. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Hazy yellow pour with large white head. Aroma of wheat, citrus, grassy, and yeast. Taste of wheat, grassy notes, citrusy lemon and yeast. Light bodied, nice carbonation, just the average run of the mill hefeweizen.

Just not my cup of beer. While I am not a fan of thr style this doesn’t rate in my view. From bottle hazy as you would expect but lacks aroma. Refreshing for a summer day nonetheless.

Flaske 0,33l fra Vinmonopolet Tromsø Langnes. Mørk aprikosfarget. Uklar. Veldig høyt kritthvitt tett skum som varer. Litt lacing. Beskjeden sitrusaroma. Myk munnfølelse. Smaker mest av banan med innslag av gjær. Svakt syrlig ettersmak. Sedimenter igjen i flaska.
