COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Kellerweis is one of the only American Hefeweizens made using the traditional Bavarian style of open fermentation. This difficult and labor-intensive technique adds uncommon depth and flavor complexity. Our hazy-golden hefeweizen is deeply flavorful, refreshing and perfect for a sunny day. To serve, pour two-thirds into a glass, swirl and pour the rest.

Well this hefeweizen seems to be a basic, I cannot tell anything to special about this beer. Still good have not had one I disliked. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours orange golden with some haziness, small head for a Hefeweizen. Banana, wheat, hay cloves, pepper, aomonds and oranges. Some restrained notes of caramel and vanilla. Medium bodied. Dry and orange-fruity finish with balanced bitterness.

Cloudy (almost opaque when first poured) bright straw-colour with diminishing head and no legs. Smells quite fresh - lots of orange, banana, light phenols (clove, spice, yeast), wheat, bready malt, bubblegum/potpourri. Aroma is more sweet and less spicy than typical hefes. Taste is similarly sweet, spicy, wheat/pale malts. Body is light and very creamy. Fizzy. Very drinkable, quite sweet. I like that the palate is velvety smooth rather than aggressively frothy/spicy.

Bottle from Ammersin 5, Vienna.
Hazy, dark golden body, with a massive, frothy, slightly yellow head.
Typical Hefeweizen aroma of banana, orange, some citrus, clove and other spices, grains.
Taste is smooth, with about the same aromas and also vanilla and some more hop notes.
Mouthfeel is medium to light, slick, with a low carbonation and it finishes spicy, slightly bitter and fruity.

Very good! Pretty much how I like a Hefeweizen, easy to drink, but fully aromatic, smooth and with the yeast, malts and hops in a well balance. Could easily be from Bavaria if you didn’t know it.

Bottle. This is a ridiculously high score from me for this style of beer- usually would not even finish. Decided to be a bit more open minded and am finding it both interesting and enjoyable if a bit sweet for my palate. Pours cloudy yellow with a hint of orange. Quickly fading white head- no lacing. Definite banana and variety of spices reminiscent of Belgians- clove, pepper and coriander. Nice citrus notes and wheat give it balance. Definitely on the sweet side, but sour notes in there as well. Nice and smooth on the palate with a satisfying and almost silky mouthfeel. Lots going on here- feel like I need to have another to fully explore flavor profile. As always with Sierra Nevada- solid, eminently drinkable and complex enough to keep me from being bored.

i’m luke warm on Sierra Nevada beers, and wheat beers in general, so i was not expecting greatness here, but it was actually a pleasant surprise. the brewers description has it down...lots of banana & clove and a little bit o hops in the finish. Better than average for the style even. 1/10-very nice on tap as well."

Enjoy it! Big and thick foam with a golden color. Good balance of spice and sour. Maybe a bit of banana or cereal.
