Kellerweis is one of the only American Hefeweizens made using the traditional Bavarian style of open fermentation. This difficult and labor-intensive technique adds uncommon depth and flavor complexity. Our hazy-golden hefeweizen is deeply flavorful, refreshing and perfect for a sunny day. To serve, pour two-thirds into a glass, swirl and pour the rest.

UPDATED: JAN 10, 2013 12oz Bottle. The Pour was a hazy amber yellow with an average (1-2 finger) white foamy head that lasted throughout and produced fair streaky lacing. The aroma was a light grain malt and a mild doughy yeast with notes of banana, citrus (lemon), a bit of coriander and a hint of vanilla. The taste was slightly bitter and rather yeasty with a hint of citrus pretty much throughout, with the finish having a slight spiciness towards the end. The flavor was short lived with a mild citrusy yeast taste fading quickly from the taste buds. Mouthfeel was light in body with a thin creamy texture and a medium carbonation. Overall this was a really good Hefeweizen, with a nice creamy yeasty taste and a good drinkability. This is a brew that I will definitely drink again, especially on one of those extremely hot summer days...

As far as hefes go, this one is near the top of my list. Typical hef aromas, bread, banana, yeast on the nose. Caries over to the taste with a good dose of malt character, biscuit, etc.

12 ounce bottle. Hazy orange gold color sports a moderate Rocky white head. Rich yeasty wheat malt nose. Zesty wheat malt flavor redolent of lemon and cloves. Salty and peppery spice in mid taste. Tart and refreshing. Long yeasty lemon peel finish.

Flaska från @majsvalling, tack! Grumlig gul vätska med stort vitt skum som lägger sig snabbare än man öppnar RateBeer. Doftar skumbanan och svagt jästigt. Mild Hefeweizen, trevlig.

On draft. Cloudy yellow color with one finger white head. Banana, clove and yeast aroma and on the taste. My favorite American version of the style so far.

Cloudy yellow color with little foam. The smell resembles of a Belgian witbeer with lots of yeast. The taste is a little salty sourness with fruity notes. A nice mixture of wheat- and witbeer, but nothing really sensational. A solid great beer, not much more.

Hazy orange color with white head that goes down quickly. Smell of citrus, spices. Nice spiciness and a hint of sourness. Carbonation and texture is silky. A Weizen-based beer this is definitely, but more on the citrus side. Unusual for a Hefeweizen. Not a bad beer though.

Tap @ Sierra NC. Hazy orangey gold with thick head. Smells citrusy and spicy. Tastes dry and floral with a hint of spice. Heavy feeling.
