On tap @ Torpedo Room. Black pour with a big khaki head. Roast, earth, and coffee on the nose. Mild cream, some cocoa, and toasted nuts. Pretty mild flavor. A touch of bitterness and some sweet malt. Nice cocoa, roast, and coffee grounds. Just a bit of nuts and earthy hops on the palate, too.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On draft at Tap 25. It pours a dark brown color with a thick nitro like khaki colored head. The aroma is roasted malt, cocoa and pretty dry… the flavor is more of the same with some pronounced herbal, earthy hops. Similar to a Guinness or Murphy’s but with more hops near the finish. Really nice and quaffable.

Knightro is another example of an overall comment I have of the entire Sierra Nevada portfolio of beers: Technically clean, but lacks depth of flavor. Sierra is the sixth largest brewery in the U.S. and its mass production level prevents it from delivering exceptional beers in any category. We owe Sierra a thanks for pioneering the craft beer business, but unfortunately, its beers have become more macro than micro.

Sampled over the weekend at the Rogue Ale House. A super beer. Talk about appearance and palate to the max. So smooth and as close to a guiness appearance as I have seen in a long time. Smooth roasted flavors were another fantastic part.
