This is Sierra Nevada’s Guinness clone. It pours like Guinness... deep, dark, reverse cascading head. It is a beautiful beer to behold. It was brewed for a Celtic festival in Nevada County, CA. Keg only.
The aroma is of fruity, tropical chocolate and light coffee, with some sweet caramel malts. Flavor is pretty much the same - complex roasted coffee flavors, chocolate, tropical fruits and roasted malts. This beer coats your mouth and forces you to take in the whole bouquet of flavors.
This is a well executed nitrogen stout. I’d take it over Guinness any day. Two bad only two places on the planet have it on tap. One is the brewery itself, the other is Matteo’s Public in Nevada City, CA. And Matteo’s only has a keg left. Go get it! I don’t think they’ll ever make it again.
