4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Sampled over the weekend at the Rogue Ale House. A super beer. Talk about appearance and palate to the max. So smooth and as close to a guiness appearance as I have seen in a long time. Smooth roasted flavors were another fantastic part.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sampled at Blind Lady Ale House; July 2012
Definitely a nitro-dispence; A dense, cascading, pale brown tinged, full tan colored head. The beer is a concentrated brown / creamy color. The aroma has an ample, toasted / roasted character to it up front. The malt character is actually a bit simplistic in its focus; but definitely more complex and rich than say Guinness. There is a touch of nuttiness here as well as a suggestion of fruit that comes out after a bit of time.
Smooth, creamy and quite light bodied; there is a touch of body here, but not too much, though perhaps a touch more than Guinness the archetype. Lightly sweet, definitely nutty, with a soft, yet dominant roasted character that lingers on in the finish, along with some dark cocoa notes. The roast provides some bitterness as well as the burnt notes.
Simple, easy drinking and even good; does well as a slightly better version of Guinness, but still not something that I am going to get overly excited by. Definitely worth trying.
