Sampler at the brewpub in Chico. Smells of roasted malt. Tastes of bitter chocolate. Nitro gives it a creamy mouth feel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On nitro at pizza plant transit. Bitter finishing irish stout. Creamy and black with retained head.

This one was a little jolty. Pour of course is fantastic, super creamy, head is alive and frothy, look of the beer is like coffee that has cream in it. Smell is controlled by the head but I do get a nutty scent. Taste is nice and balanced, creamy nuttiness, super drying and cleansing

draft to sampler, I am not a huge nitro fan but in this instance it was ok. dry stout similar to guiness in style but made the SN way with nitro. mild roastiness dry finish the middle was creamy enough to make it enjoyable.

Keg at the Torpedo Room, Berkeley, 29/01/16. Pitch black pour with a big old tan head with excellent retention qualities - a real looker of a beer. Nose is thinnish, light paper, roasted notes, toffee, cocoa powder, raisens. Taste comprises mellow dark fruits, light tar, chocolate sprinkle, light roast bitterness. Medium bodied, soft, smooth, caressing on the throat, drying close with a little roast. Looks and feels great but lacks direction at the business end.

Draft at the Torpedo Room. Pours an opaque coffee brown with a cascading khaki head. Notes of toasted and mild roasted and chocolate malts, tobacco, earth, and some soy/umami kind of thing. Light-bodied, with high soft carbonation and a dry, smooth, mildly roasty mouthfeel. Good nitro stout.

Keg at the Torpedo Room. Pours deep brown with a thick, creamy tan head. Mellow nose, hints of smokey roast, faint cocoa. Light sweet flavor with faint toasted malts, cocoa, earth; rather bland. Light bodied with soft carbonation; as usual, the nitro serve has messed up the mouthfeel. Somewhat bland on the finish, just some burnt toast, slight earthy bitterness and weak cocoa. So so.

Draft at torpedo room. Strong dried chocolate aroma. Cocoa. Taste is lightly toasted coffee. A touch thin but otherwise good.

Draught at Sierra Nevada Torpedo Room. Opaque black liquid with big, firm cream white head. Aroma of coffee, light ash, light grain, light fresh hops and toast. Taste is light sweet and light bitter with notes of coffee, light ash and toast. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Decent.

On nightro (obvs) tap at the Torpedo Room. Pours a deep black with a thick tanned white head. Soft faintly alkaline roast, light chocolate. Medium-bodied, but on the thin side due to the nitro. Chocolate, cocoa, soft roast. Straightforward and clean. Easy drinking, soft malt and roast into the finish.

Nitro pour at the Collective, as part of the Sierra Nevada night. Guess this is the harder one to find on their list this evening, so I jumped on it. Pours black with the thick nitro foam head. Near absent aroma. Flavor is very light roast and coffee. Drinks light, with a cream body. Alright beer. Just lacks the expected bold flavor.
