Bottle: The aroma consists of light sweet grain and cereal notes with hints of apple and a touch of straw. It pours a transparent gold with a one finger white head that fades to a thin film outlined by a thicker ring. There is some thin webbing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with very mild sweet cereal and grain notes. The finish has light cracker with a touch of grass/straw. It’s light bodied with mild carbonation. Overall, a nice sessionable lawnmower beer.

Bottle from the summer mix pack. A beautiful light clear golden brew with fine bubbles and a frothy white head. Light malty sweetness - excellently balanced with just the right amount of hops. A very tasty and refreshing example of this style.

Bottle. Pours a clear yellow color with white head. Cereal, straw, slight grassy aromas. Cereal, malty, noble hop flavors. Alright.

Date: July 23, 2015... Glassware: Ayinger willibecker... Occasion: well pump replaced, and a tan replacement scheduled for tomorrow--time to drink... Appearance: sallow, pale straw yellow body that hides nothing; steady effervescence suggests healthy beer; white head is foamy, almost coral in its fragmented,, upward-reaching arms and oxygenated spaces; reasonable post-sipping lacing.... Aroma: lemony to start, and light, flowery hops--as per the style, not much else to pollute the promise of clean, easy drinking; a little cereal suggested, with a minimal yeast funk... Palate: thin and fizzy, with a swift exit and subtle, lingering aftertaste--again, the style dictate its drinkability, and this is agreeably so... Taste: hops are damp, recalcitrant but slightly flowery, and they do return late to a scaled flourish; malts are even more understated, with a soft sweetness piquing the taste buds; some bubblegum and bitterness that doesn’t add to or subtract from the experience.... Overall: once more, reviewing a kolsch is like rating techno or describing the color white--and I am a fan of both in the right context. Most accomplish their goal of drinkability through quality water and the delicate application of ingredients; Sierra Nevada knows their stuff and delivers a beer commensurate to its style... proof is in the nearly empty glass next to the computer while I rate this, a simple sip-and-type ritual that exemplifies the functionality of this beer on a nice summer night ....

Seems more radiation all than the über hopped for style Close Call. Crisp and slightly sweet, light grass and toast. Not bad.

I poured it from the bottle into a pint glass. It pours a clear straw color with some white head and lacing. The aroma is yeast and a hint of fruit. The taste is biscuit, some malt, and fruity sweetness. There’s a touch of bitterness on the back end. It’s smooth. This was pretty good and very sessionable.

Somewhat liked it but kinda sour, tastes like a Belgian yeast. Easy to drink, not my favorite taste.

Clear bright light gold, small soapy white head. Aroma of grains, hay, grass, lemon. Light, crisp, refreshing and just dry enough. Mild but noticeable earthy bitterness. I wouldn’t mind a few more..

Light-bodied, crisp citrus/lemon, yeasty smooth taste. Straw/hay. Very easy to drink and enjoyable.
