4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This was poured into a snifter.
The appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a thin glaze of a little head. Seemingly collared lacing here and there.
The smell starts off with the sweet bourbon over a big roasty blissful coffee bean. Delicate cocoa bean underneath.
The taste replicates the smell nicely. Bourbon boozy sweetness slides into the aftertaste.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a great sipping quality about it. Cabonation has pretty much died off (hmmm...that was kinda quick considering that this was only a 2015 bottle, yeah well).
Overall, barrel aged imperial stout, damn, this is really nice. SN did a stellar job with this one. I’d have again, maybe I just had at the right time.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Basically liquid bourbon barrel. The roastiness is coal, burned wood and tobacco. Quite dry and bitter. Sweetness is medium. It has a very long finish with bourbon biting on the end. But all that is dominated by bourbon, vanilla, cocoa and wood notes. Serious BA beer.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle@home, from Wine Spot, Cleveland, USA. Strong aroma of licorice, bourbon and some cocoa. Pitch black color with small beige head. Strong balanced taste of licorice, roasted malts, and some vanilla and cocoa. Bourbon nicely on the background. Wide taste spectrum and long aftertaste with slightly roasted malts and licorice. Strong body with light carbonation. Overall, high quality with bourbon implemented quite well. Could have bit more complexity.

Thanks to !like for sharing. Black, medium carbonation for the style. Booze aroma with whiskey. Heavily roasted and burnt grain. Rich palate. This is sold in 750 bottles, and that is too much for one person.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
This is my kind of beer. Pours a completely opaque black eith a dense tan head. The nose is heavy and robust with huge espresso and chocolate notes, a pinch of anise and a ton of rich, woody barrel emphasis. Rich bourbon and woody roasted notes. Sweet up front with roasted espresso and anise, light vanilla. The finish is woody and lightly bitter with roasted malts. Barrel notes are perfectly done and linger in the aftertaste.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Shared 2015, 750 ml. bottle poured to snifters, showing a black/brown hue, with a presentable layer of tan head foam, and wavy cling to the lacing. The nose was medium roast, with mocha notes, light maltiness, and barrel induced vanilla & coconut that assisted in tempering the roasted nature. Medium+ bodied, with fair carbonation, the taste was similar, added a roasted & earthy bitterness, and pleasant, bourbony warmth.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
750mL of 2014 pours a dark brown/black with a medium tan head. Aroma of bright barrel sweetness, oaky vanilla and whiskey, sweet undertones of chocolate and molasses. Texture is slick and sweet, moderate oaky vanilla and whiskey, well balanced with slightly more dry chocolate and molasses, light leather, coconut and marshmellow and a light alcohol and bitterness on the finish. Nice approachable balance.
