4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Iím surprised that this beer "only" scores a 92... what in the. Poured into a shaker pint.
Appearance: Pitch black. Tan head. Poured nicely. A bit of lacing, but not much.
Smell: Chocolate. Some smoke. A lot of roast. Not much in terms of dark fruits.
Taste/feel: Well, thatís some damn good stuff. Chocolate and roastiness, as youíd expect. Some smoke. Dark fruits in there a little bit (mostly as it warms), but not too much. Alcohol is hidden well as far as flavor goes, but thereís a definite warmth there. A bit more "harsh" than some other RISís, I suppose. The feel isnít quite as full bodied as some others Iíve had, which is a slight knock, but still excellent. Drinks a bit too easily.
Fantastic beer. Not much else to say about that. Underrated, in my opinion. Stands up well to some other, perhaps more popular, RISís.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Near black pour with a quickly fading khaki head. Aroma is of coffee, chocolate, and dark sweet fruits. There is also a hint of booze mixed in with the aroma. Taste is a well balanced delight to sip on, nice mix of dark fruit and maltiness. Overall a great beer, very well done.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap Dublinís. Deep black with minimal head. Nose of bitter chocolate, roast malt, dark fruit, and pine bitterness. Flavor is roast balance with bittersweet chocolate. Again, a bit of a green, pine-citrus hop bitterness poking through. Coating mouthfeel. More hop presence than I typically like in an imperial stout, but still quite good.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Lightly dense roasty bottle nose. Really opens up in the glass. Rich malt, dark chocolate. Thick body, fairly cloying, very sappy. Quite an alcohol bitter roast end. Tab head thins leading to some light whisps of baldy lacing. Nice, maybe a bit weedy but generally fine . Still, not overly complex and a bit one dimensional.
