4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Delicate aroma of raisins and hard roasted malt. The taste has both strong espresso coffee, dark chocolate, anise, raisins and a little hint of sherry (or maybe itís a little cherry) towards the end. In addition there is a taste of dried peat, oak and a little vanilla. The finish is moderately hoppy with extravagant taste of bitter dryness mixed with bitter roasted cocoa beans.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Canít believe I didnít rate this before when I bought it.... and really surprised at how wonderfully this held up and aged. Most of my forgotten cellar has gone to crap but this is beautiful. Thick dark chocolate pour little head 4.5. Not much in the way of aroma but it is old and still cold. Flavor screams dark chocolate in a very natural way. Reminds me of what Brooklyn used to taste like. Big alcohol up front but the syrupy richness catches up to give some balance. Long roasted barley finish. The carafe and roasted stand out. For only having 5 malts this is incredibly complex. Perfect mouthfeel. Chewy fluffy, wonderful. In a world of crappy Imperial Stouts this one stands out. Donít remember it being like this when I bought it though.
