4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
12oz bottle. Pours a dark completely opaque with absolutely no highlights. Head is dark brown and fades quickly. Nose is coffee, dark chocolate and some sweet prunes and banana. Really delicious. The first thing you notice is that this thing is thick. Really thick and viscous. Flavour is banana and clove, dark chocolate, subtle smoke, and then a lingering bitterness that goes on and on. Palate is slightly oily. Really quite delicious.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz bottle. Pours black as night with a 2 finger khaki/brown head. Rich, chocolatey aroma with coffee beans and molasses. The chocalate taste is a bit more bittersweet than the aroma as well an astringent sweetness not unlike molasses. Picking up some earthy hop flavors too. Full bodied with a surprising amount of carbonation. Not much differant than a dozen other Impy Stouts, but quite good.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
First stout in a while. Pours jet black with a lovely creamy chocolate head. Dark chocolate dominates the nose with a of coffee and some hops. The taste includes plenty of dark chocolate and some coffee. Very thick in texture this beer (like most imperial stouts) is a sipper. Pretty dam good Imperial stout.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
12oz bottle. Pour is oily black with a quickly diminishing head of dark coffee tan. What remains is swirls of dark tan on the surface and around the glass. Aroma contains lots of dark rich chocolate and sweet malt. I also get cola aromas and maybe some smokiness. The hops make their presence known immediately in the flavors. The bitterness of the hops and roasted malt strike firmly at the beginning and then retreat behind the chocolate sweetness - although the sweetness isnít nearly as strong in flavor as it is in the smell alone. The finish is again dominated by the American hops. The body is full and sticky. Alcohol is extremely well hidden and this beer is very easy to drink for the impressive power it carries. My only improvement would be to tone down the hope presence a little and let the chocolate, smokey character shine a bit more. Really well done.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
perfume and caramel aroma this dark brown brew has some slight alcohol burn with a tangy finish. donít like the dense body that seems flavorless with the hint of hops that could just as well be my imagination. foamy brown head and flavor turns to bourbon.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz bottle from jsprime. black, with a tan head. nice nose typical of the style, chocolate coffee and dark fruit. the flavour is solid as well, great malt progression, and this is very well hopped. everything isin balance and its quite easy to sip away at this stout. not a world beater but would make a great "every day" imperial stout.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Tomlinsonís, Inverness
Black, medium tan head than dissipates, some lacing
Aroma of roasted malts, liquorice, some dark fruits, quite boozy nose
Taste of smooth rich dark malts, liquorice, some dark bitterish cocoa, dab of dark fruit
Palate - Soft carb, full body. Palate is fairly sweet rich dark malts with alcohol. Finish is mainly of warming alcohol with dark liquorice malts, a long lingering bit metallic alcohol burn in the tail
Overall - This didnít hide its abv - tbh it seemed the abv was even higher...good flavour in there but rather too boozy
