4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz bottle. Pours inky black with a big creamy brown head that retains well and laces the glass.
The aroma is sweet roasted grains, chocolate, and some black licorice.
The flavor is some sweet lactic chocolate quickly followed by a big roast bitterness, some black licorice and a little dark fruit and coffee. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with low carbonation.
Overall, a solid imperial stout.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma is roasty coffee and chocolate, simple, dead on for style and inviting. Pitch black with a tan head it looks exactly as it should. Taste is roasty upfront, coffee comes through next, and there is an accompanying bitterness.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle picked up a Premier Gourmet Niagara Falls New York. Pours super dark, opaque, motor oil, with a tan head that recedes rather quickly to a thin film, with a film of lacing. Nose is surprisingly more fruity than I had expected. Smells rather bourbon like, sweet and boozy. Tastes malty, raisins, dark chocolate bitter, and boozy. Awesome brew.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
12oz bottle poured into a snifter glass. Pours black with initially a one-finger darker tan head that fades into a ring around the edge of the beer. Aroma of chocolate, malts, roasted coffee, alcohol, and a hint of hops. Taste is heavy on malts and roasted coffee up front with cocoa and hop bitterness coming in underneath it. Alcohol is hidden fairly well, but comes through in the burn on the throat and slightly in taste as it warms. Finish has a nice lingering taste of cocoa and roasted coffee. Full body, thick and chewy texture, moderate carbonation. Overall very tasty and very well done.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Pours almost-black with a fairly small brown head. Not much retention or lacing. Strong aroma of coffee, dark chocolate, roasted malts, and raisins. More chocolate than coffee, with a lot of roasted malts and some dark molasses. Somewhat metallic finish. Thick and oily mouthfeel. Very good.

Black with a quickly fading tan head. Aroma is primarily roasted barley with some underlying notes of dark fruits. Roasty, and moderately sweet with some licorice flavors. Hops shine through a bit in the finish along with just a hint of alcohol warmth.
