This massive imperial stout is incredibly complex, rich, and intense and will develop in the bottle for years to come.

Bottle. Pours black, opaque, tan head. Nose is dark chocolate, dark fruit, alcohol. Some black coffee in the flavour, finish has a lot of licorice to it, some booze but not too much. Good stuff.

Smak och doft av främst choklad och mörkt kaffe men också av rostade toner, torkad frukt och en aning vanilj. Krämig, rund, len och samtidigt frisk och med en lagom beska. Kraftfull och välbalanserad. Riktigt gott.

Absolutely look forward to this beer every year. Dark, creamy, smooth, little burn, but totally awesome.

UPDATED: DEC 18, 2013 350ml bottle, pours brownish black with a small creamy tan head with good retention. Aroma of dark chocolate, coffee and roasted malt. Taste of roasted malt, chocolate, roasted malt, muscovado and a little alcohol. Light-medium sweetness and medium bitterness. Full body, creamy texture and soft carbonation. Overall a very tasty Imperial Stout.

Smooth malty drink. Deep roasted character with subtle chocolate and coffee. Nothing aggressive. Well meshed flavors. Lightly sweet with a slight boozy finish.

Harpooned this sucker out of a 12oz bottle. Pours a dark black with a medium to light beige head. With the smell you get big hits of coffee and malt. I’m also getting some hints of hops with the aroma that sometimes don’t come through with an imperial stout. A nice coffee flavor comes through with an aftertaste of dark chocolate and malt. As far as the palate is concerned the malt flavor really sits heavy on the tongue. It’s a little too much for me. Very tasty beer that I would try again. But not one of the best Imperials out there. In my dang opinion.

Bottle from Cornelius. Dense black body with a medium beige head. Excellent lacing. Aroma of salt, espresso, herbs and blackcurrant. Flavour of black coffee, salt, dark chocolate and underripe plum. Faint peppery finish. Medium body with an slick, oily mouthfeel. Lively carbonation fizz for an Imperial Stout. Honestly, I was expecting more from this. Virtually no hop character and the end result is a bit one-dimensional.
