This massive imperial stout is incredibly complex, rich, and intense and will develop in the bottle for years to come.

I had this at Global Brew. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Taste coffee, chocolate. I thought this was not good (I don't like coffee). I wouldn't drink this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle poured a rich dark brown with a thick tan head. The aroma is very light, chocolate malts. The taste is really rich, I can taste a lot of dark chocolate with a little coffee. Overall rich, a little watery in the mouth feel, vegetal hop in the finish.

2013 bottle. Served cool in a Guinness glass and let come up in temperature. Opaque black color. Thin khaki head. Aromas of dark fruit, baker's chocolate and coffee. Flavors of dark, dried fruit, semi-sweet chocolate, vanilla, roasted coffee beans, and ash. Great flavors!! ..that linger on a loooong finish! Delicious stuff for price!! Solid! Glad i retried it.. my first 2012 experience from draft was mediocre. Thank you Chad! Much appreciated bottle. Cheers! --- tasted while on a long journey to understand the world around me...

12-ounce bottle in Albuquerque. Pours with a very think, lasting tan head. Big aromas, led by chocolate. Full mouthfeel, big body. Rich dark malt flavors with cacao character, late touch of molasses and alcohol notes. A great winter warmer.

Pours solid black with a faint dark brown head that disappeared very quickly, leaving nice lacing. Aroma is strong coffee, sweet chocolate, and malts. Taste is quite sweet, chocolate, and alcohol with undertones of fruit - perhaps dates. Finishes with a slight, but distinct bitter. It loses virtually all carbonation within minutes of the pour.

Bottle. Pitch black pour with brown head. Aroma is dominated by coffee and roasted malt. Suppressed notes of fruit as well. Balanced taste with notes of liquorice. Full body and just the right warmth from the alcohol.

On tap @ Bottleworks. Pours ink black with medium thick mocha head. Aroma is dark roasty malts, dark chocolate, and a hint of coffee. Taste is rich chocolatey malt, mild hops balance out the finish. Notes of dark molasses, chocolate, and coffee. Thick body. Not as heavily roasted as the aroma suggested. Clean, straightforward imperial stout. Really needs some barrel time to take it to the next level. And, in fairness, may do well with some time in the bottle as well.

GIJOE (1057) - North Berwick, Maine, USA - NOV 22, 2013
Pours jet-black with a thick, foamy, brown head that stays a while. Copious lacing. Nose is malt with notes of coffee, dark chocolate, and dried fruits. Taste is devilishly bitter and some leathery, burnt-sugar notes come through on the palate. This full-bodied beast delights with moderately lively carbonation and a long caramel toffee finish. Home run, Sierra Nevada! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is molasses, coffee and roasted malts. Taste is molasses and prunes with deeep dark maltiness. There’s a creaminess to this one, as well. Don’t really pick up any coffee or chocolate in the taste. The finish is kinda sweet for a stout with just some faint bitterness.
