This massive imperial stout is incredibly complex, rich, and intense and will develop in the bottle for years to come.

Arrival: October, 2012

12oz bottle. Black pour with a tan head. Smells like a pan of fudge brownies - big chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, slight anise. Flavor is also chocolate forward but is very complex. Anxious to see how this ages.

Woah! Nice stuff from SN. Aroma is big chocolate notes, fudge, some roast, and light vanilla and coffee. This one pours nice, with a black body and a tan head. Very oily and slick body. Taste wise, I got some light caramel, tons of chocolate, fudge, some anise, a touch of roast, and some sweet malts. Bitter finish. Very nice.

Bottle. Super dark brown pour with a light brownish head. Roasty aroma melds well with lots of good chocolate notes, some brownies, and I can actually smell some light hop notes. Flavor is sweet, roasty, lightly bitter, well balanced and damn good!

Cool. Creamy and heavily roasted coffee aroma. Some serious black malt and creamy, heavily roasted coffee on the nose. In the mouth it is slick with initial fruitiness that progresses through raw, metallic graininess to a heavyweight bitterness in the finish.

Draft. Black color, thick brown head with decent retention. Aroma of bitter cocoa, caffe macchiato. Taste is vanilla, intense milk chocolate, chicolate covered espresso beans. Delicious.

I love this brewery. So consistent. This beers pours pitch black with nice cocoa head. Nice dark chocolate aromas. Flavours are anise, molasses, chocolate and booze. Very good!

It pours thick and dark chocolate brown, from the bottle, with a thin sheet of tan bubbles quickly dissipating and leaves no lacing. Aromas of chocolate, booze, vanilla, some honey, caramel and coffee. The flavor is sweet and roasty, coffee, milk chocolate, honey. It’s think, rich and smooth. Great imperial stout, no need for a lot of aging, in my opinion.

Dark and a bit on the sweeter side of imperial stouts. Chocolate, coffee. Overall, very good,

This is a very tasty beer. Lots of dark chocolate and cocoa. Also some licorice. Sierra Nevada is easily the best macro, micro brewer, IMO!
