Bottle from Mari’s. It’s amazing how many ratings have hit this beer so quickly. Pours pitch black with a small tan head that quickly dissipates to a tan film with a few bubbles. The alcohol legs are definitely present. The aroma has a lot of roasted characteristic, some lactic notes, some booze. the taste is big and roasty, a good coffee hit, some dark chocolate, and warm rush as you swallow. You can feel the warmth but not taste is. Really good - very impressed.

On tap at Hellbenders Burritos in Davis, WV. Opaque, deep dark brown with small brown head and very good lacing. Aroma of milk chocolate, caramel, roasted malt, toffee and coffee. Taste of alcohol, dark roasted malt, chocolate, molasses, toffee and roasted coffee. Full body and medium/high carbonation with a velvety, foamy mouthfeel. A beer that is almost too big for its own good. The booze overshadows the other flavors and masks much of the complexity. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle. Black with a thick tan head and lots of lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, citrus, chocolate and some sweet caramel. Flavor is full on bitter roasted malt and bitter hops up front with some dry cocoa and light caramel sweetness, very mild alcohol presence. Full body with a thick, creamy mouth feel. This is a really great beer, it will be interesting to see how it ages.

Bottle from Pilgrim’s Market, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, USA. A dark brown/black coloured pour with a healthy beige head on top. Roasty, malty, chocolate, coffee aroma. Tastes similar, really roasty, malty, coffee, chocolate, slightly bitter and dry. Rich tasting Imperial Stout that would probably improve with a bit of age.

Pours an inky black with an espresso head. This has a big cocoa powder taste to me followed by honey and then some bitterness. But not hop bitterness, more dark chocolate. Doesn’t show the alcohol at all. Glad it is only 12oz too.

perfume and caramel aroma this dark brown brew has some slight alcohol burn with a tangy finish. don’t like the dense body that seems flavorless with the hint of hops that could just as well be my imagination. foamy brown head and flavor turns to bourbon.

Pours opaque black with a nice tan head. Aroma is chocolatey, apologize my nose is a bit blocked. Nice boozy, full-mouthed choco-roasty with a nice coating effect.

12 oz bottle. Pours black with full tan head. Aromas of ash, milk chocolate, and heavily roasted malts. Flavors of black coffee, alcohol, bitter nuts, and heavily roasted malt. A little too bitter and thin but still quite tasty.
