tap at Dash In - Pours black with a long lasting tan head. The aroma is surprisingly mild but includes roast malt, chocolate, and alcohol. It has a very sweet flavor with chocolate, roast malt, and licorice. Full bodied with gentle carbonation, it’s a very good brew.

12oz Bottle. Yummy! 2015 version not as good as last year. I am a huge stout fan and I like this one.

Delicate aroma of raisins and hard roasted malt. The taste has both strong espresso coffee, dark chocolate, anise, raisins and a little hint of sherry (or maybe it’s a little cherry) towards the end. In addition there is a taste of dried peat, oak and a little vanilla. The finish is moderately hoppy with extravagant taste of bitter dryness mixed with bitter roasted cocoa beans.

Bottle to pint glass. Nice looking pour. Dark black , Nice tan head. Aroma is toasted malt, dark chocolate. Taste is mostly burnt toast, coffee, tobacco leather. Strong and bitter flavors, not bad, but not smooth at all.

2012 bottle. Can’t believe I didn’t rate this before when I bought it.... and really surprised at how wonderfully this held up and aged. Most of my forgotten cellar has gone to crap but this is beautiful. Thick dark chocolate pour little head 4.5. Not much in the way of aroma but it is old and still cold. Flavor screams dark chocolate in a very natural way. Reminds me of what Brooklyn used to taste like. Big alcohol up front but the syrupy richness catches up to give some balance. Long roasted barley finish. The carafe and roasted stand out. For only having 5 malts this is incredibly complex. Perfect mouthfeel. Chewy fluffy, wonderful. In a world of crappy Imperial Stouts this one stands out. Don’t remember it being like this when I bought it though.

12 oz bottle, 2015 version. Opaque with a dense tan head and sticky lace.
Aroma is creamy chocolate, molasses, coffee, prune.
Flavor is dark roasted malt, burnt toast, vanilla, molasses, and a hint of hoppy bitterness. Unlike previous years, the alcohol is well hidden. No heat on the finish.

Pours a perfect jet black color with excellent lacing and great head retention. It smells of dark chocolate and coffee. Tastes like burnt toast and burnt coffee. This is an epic stout and is one that is most memorable!
