12 oz bottle, actually a few. Dark brown with a thick and creamy tan head. Nose is milk chocolate, hay, prune and dark roast. Full body, a tad chalky, with a lively tang. Taste is dark chocolate, grapefruit, pine and espresso with a pinch of salt. Rich, rustic and roasty. Yum.

Bottle vintage 2014. Black oily colour with two fingers of chocolate mocha head. Aroma is roasted malts, anise, and coffee. Taste is anise, followed by roasted malts, and coffee, finish has some roast but is quite smooth, fu,l bodied mouthfeel, medium carbonation. Nice and roasty, this is a really solid impy.

Poured from bottle, deep dark black brown with light brown low head. Aroma is nicely complex with notes of coffee, chocolate, dried fruit, herbs and a trace of liquorice. Taste is very well balanced, sweetness, bitterness and body well held together. Notes of coffee, caramel, dark bread, dried fruit, some chocolate and a trace of butterscotch.

Olajosan folyó, sűrű és fekete ital ez, ami likőrös, maláta kekszes, illatos dohányos, kakaós, kesernyés, medvecukros, fásan fanyarkás és igen száraz. Remek itóka!

@ julafton med fader och fadern. Mycket chocklad i aromen, väldigt balanserad i smaken, rostade kaffe toner. Fantastisk

bottle, merci Monsieur le Docteur! Deep black, with a brown head. Chocolatey nose with soem coffee. Almost oily consistency. Full-bodied, dark, dark malts, roasty, with chocolate and freshly ground strong coffee, also some dried fruit in the background - dates, figs and apricot. Delicious.

On the Ninth Day of Christmas 2014 the beer gods gave to me . . . a disappointing stout. When I saw the bottle my eyes lit up. I was hoping for a big, thick, chocolatey, roasty, hoppy stout. It feels like it’s trying to get there but it’s a little too light, a little too sweet, and a little light on the roast. It seems closer to a black IPA without a big enough hop hit. It pours a dark black color with a caramel colored head. Aroma of caramel, grapefruit with some roast and earthiness. Sweet chocolate caramel tase with roast and grapefruit. Some more chocolate on backend. It has the components. But just doesn’t come together for me. Decent.

Thick black brew with brown head that dies off fast. Smells of alcohol and chocolate malts. Taste is pretty much the same but with a hop bitter dryness. There is an alcohol bite to it that does let you know this one is not something to chug but rather sip at. Decent brew but too much booze to make it really enjoyable. Got a 4 pack so thinking about hanging on to the other 3 a while to see if they mellow some with age.

Pours Black, very black with a small diminishing head which clings to the glass, roasted malts very earthy aroma high alcohol fumes, flavour was heavily roasted malts, coffee and chocolate mixed in had a very earthy bitterness to it, soft carbonation, found it refreshing even on a 33 degree evening slick in the mouth, excellent stout.
