Bottle from mane liquor. Pours a pitch black with nice tan head. Aromas of coffee, roasted malts, vanilla, cocoa and some burnt notes. Taste is espresso, roasted coffee and a stickiness that lingers in your mouth. Can only slightly taste the alcohol. Good beer.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Vestergaard (113) - Aarhus C, DENMARK - JUN 17, 2013
Pours black with a fluffy light brown head. Looks pretty thick when whirled. smell is packed with chocolate, coffee and is really nicely burned. not too sweet, but some dark berries though. a slight licorice too. The taste is pretty bitter with some dark dark chocolate at first, followed up by a nice dark roasted coffee. Some fruit i can’t really specify, but maybe blueberries or plum? Fits very well with the chocolate at least. Dry in a wooden or vinous way, but it’s still a full bodied fella.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 RasmusOtt (876) - Aalborg, DENMARK - JUN 17, 2013
Pours black with a tiny brown head. Aroma of dark roasted malts, cocoa beans, mellow chocolate fudge, dark sweet berries, coffee and some vanilla. Taste of bitter liquorice, coffee, dark chocolate, roasted malts, vanilla, some darker berries, warming alcohol at the end and a bit dry woody feel to it even though it is not barrel aged. Really enjoyable (for the price as well).

Multiple bottles. Black colored pour with a tan head. Smells roasted, full of chocolate, coffee, hops, citrus. Taste sweet and smooth, easy drinking, rich, and rivals alot of the better stouts. Pretty good stuff that I can find in my grocery store.

Sadly this is one of my least favorite stouts. A bit too smokey, almost burnt, with a super bitter aftertaste.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 jgb9348 (4025) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - JUN 13, 2013
Deep super dark brown coloured body with a very thin, fast-dying light brown head leaving an oily glow on top of the beer. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, grapes, oak, vanilla, alcohol and a bunch of earth. Medium to Full-bodied; Deep roasty and peaty flavours up front with a bunch of alcohol, toffee, chocolate and some oaky notes. Aftertaste shows a lot of depth, but some rather smokey and bitter tastes throughout with oak, peat, chocolate, earth and a strong alcohol flavour. Overall, a nice beer, but perhaps a bit too rough around the edges, at least right now, showing too much bitterness, alcohol and peat notes. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle (2012) purchased from Westover Market in Arlington, Virginia on 23-November-2012 for US$3.39 sampled at home in Washington on 13-June-2013.

Pours very dark, almost black, with very little tan head from the bottle. Aroma is rich and complex, notes of coffee and malt. Taste is slightly sweet, malty, with complex tastes of chocolate and coffee mixed with licorice. There is a touch of hoppiness underneath as well. Thumbs up! a nice imperial stout.

Pours deep black with a medium tan head, excellent lacing. Aroma is roast, coffee, dark chocolate, wood and smoke. Taste is sweet with some acrid bitters, very very balanced. Smooth, full bodied with some stickiness on the finish.
