3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours a deep copper color and very clean/clear with a decent white head that left substantial lacing. Very nice hop bitterness and flavor. I sense more malt in the aroma than hops, but plenty of hop presence overall. It has a solid malt core, but the hops balance nicely so that the malt isnít overwhelming. This is the kind of beer that a hophead can enjoy in place of over-malty Octoberfests. This is one of the better brews from Sierra Nevada.

Interesting grassy/citrus aroma. It pours a clear copper with about a finger and a half of craggy white head. Nice crisp hop flavor, with a long bitter finish. Nicely balanced.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
24 oz bottle: Aroma is hop heavy with a nice floral and citrus aroma. Pours a copper/golden color with a large sized foamy white head that lingers. Taste has a pungent hop characteristic, bitter, woodsy, and a bit of citrus. Palate is lightly bitter, but short lived. Overall, Pretty good IPA. Itís got a nice big hop flavor and the aroma is really nice. Itís decent I would buy it again if I got the deal that I got, but not a stellar IPA just above average overall.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
22oz bomber. For a beer that claims to be a fresh hop ale I detect very little hops in the ale. The aroma is very malty, caramel malts with the faintest of hops aroma. The taste is heavy on the malts as well with very little hop bitterness to it. Disappointed in this ale, name was very deceiving to me.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: NOV 1, 2007 Pours a nice ruby amber with a good sized lasting off white head in a tulip. Piney, chemical cleaner like hops aroma. After it warms, some bitter unripe pecan like nuttiness too. Taste is pretty similar to smell. Kind of piney, fairly bitter, and astringent like hop taste. Nicely carbonated and nice body. Sharp, dry metallic bitterness but a faint earthy sweetness in the finish as well. Overall a hoppier than average IPA that has a unique character about it. Good, but not something Iím dying to get more of.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Amber color. Smell of hops, grass, pine, minor grapefruit, malt, rye and leafs. Smelled like a nice autumn day. Taste of hops, pine, grass, malt, light caramel, rye and a nice hop bitterness at the end. Hardly no citrus taste at all. Mouth was coated with oil from the hops. This was almost as good as the Celebration ale.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft at Falling Rock Taphouse, Denver. Pure amber color with an initial head of foam that settles into a thin veil. Aroma is orchardy and full of fall fruits. Same for the flavors -- Apple, tangy corn-candy, sticks around in your mouth like sugar candy, sweet and festy. (#3141, 10/13/2007)
