COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Each fall, hops reach their peak flavor- bursting with aromatic oils that give ales layers of complex flavor and aroma that can only happen at harvest time. For us, fall comes twice a year- once in each hemisphere. This Harvest Ale features "wet" or un-dried whole-cone hops from Yakima, WA that are plucked from the bine and delivered to our brewery within 24 hours of picking.

1 pint 8 oz bottle. Very red appearance for an ipa. Not much head. A bit spicy on the front, no aftertaste. Honestly not much going on here. Some citrus on nose. It’s it heresy to say this reminds me of a hoppy Budweiser? Perhaps my bottle was old.

This is a killer combo of dank earthiness with a burst of orange juice notes. This is way bitter and seems more alcohol tasting than 6.7%. I liked that it is basically two hop varietals making such a bold statement.

Bottle, peachy Amber beer, fine, cream head, ok lacing. Aroma is spruce and hay/cut grass, very faint onion. Flavor is malt, spruce, orange, citrus rind. Body is rich, carbonation good. This is quite bitter, even for an IPA, and I don’t get as much fruit as I expected.

From bottle. Clear amber color with fluffy tan head. Aroma is caramel, citrus, and a pleasant touch of darkness. Taste is caramel, candied citrus, bitter grapefruit, and some floral, fresh-cut grass notes. Well-balanced sweet and bitter flavors with a tasty and smooth finish.

Pours a dark amber. Nose is malty with some pine and a touch of banana ester. Main flavor is bitter with some malty sweetness and a bitter bite, perhaps from roasted barley. Good oily-creamy body. Finish is a bit too bitter with no true noble hop flavor. Not really an IPA, more of an IPA-Irish red fusion.

Pours a dark amber and clear. Not much head. Aroma of citrus, some spice, and sweet malts. Taste of grapefruit, spices, caramel, and bread. A little over a month old, but seemed to be lacking in flavor. Guess I was expecting more from this IPA.

Bottled 9/24/14. Clear dark orange to amber pour with dense full inch of offwhite head. Strong hoppy aroma; very juicy syrupy sweet citrus, tangy pert resin or pine as well. Average to soft carbonation, thick creamy mouthfeel, dry and sticky finish. Citrus zests fill the flavor, carmel malt, bitter florals, pine and resin taste at finish. Nothing bad, just wish I tried it closer to bottling. Hoping for something juicier.

Pours a gorgeous amber color with decent lacing and head retention. Almost drinks like a red would....malty and a bit sweet on the nose and same on the taste. Not a bad beer, but Sierra’s best either.
