COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Each fall, hops reach their peak flavor- bursting with aromatic oils that give ales layers of complex flavor and aroma that can only happen at harvest time. For us, fall comes twice a year- once in each hemisphere. This Harvest Ale features "wet" or un-dried whole-cone hops from Yakima, WA that are plucked from the bine and delivered to our brewery within 24 hours of picking.

Bottle. Dark amber, creamy, frothy lasting dirty white head. Fruity, hoppy, herbal, earthy aroma, very inviting. Flavor has more herbalness, pine, fruity hoppyness. Finish has some caramel, is bitter and herbal. Great mouthfeel and balance. No bbe, but felt very fresh still. Very tasty ipa.

8oz bottle, Molloys. Lovely deep dark copper, big rich creamy, incredibly long lasting off-white head. Looks the business. Pine/spruce, grapefruit along with cereal/grain and a nuttiness in the aroma. Beautiful flavour, well balanced between medium dry, earthy toasted malt with a touch of sweetness, and big fresh, fruity hops. Medium carbonation. Full bodied, oily, slick texture. Finish is long with a pretty intense bitterness.

12,14,13,13,14,13 - 13,10

On keg at the Barley Mow, Bristol 4/5/2013. Deep amber with a slick of a head. Aroma of grass hops, pine and tropical fruits. Flavour was sweetish, with orange, grapefruit and pineapple, more pine and some crisp malts, before a hoppy, dry finish. Very good.

Bought at Systembolget Sweden. Copper color with a nice foamy head. Aroma with citrus, fresh tropical fruits and some toffe/caramel. Strikingly nice balance between malts and bitterness. However the hops have center stage. Taste is with citrus (grapefriuts) with a thick/oily and rather spicy background. Maybe some pine and resins? Lovely! Nice bitterness that rests in the mouth rather than beeing overwhelming. Not so dry with medium mouthfeel. Very nice ale for the certified hophead!

1pt 8 fl oz bottle from BeerRitz. Pours a clear dark orange-golden colour, foam off-white head that diminishes leaving some lacing and aroma of tropical fruits, citrus & caramel. Taste is juicy mango tropical fruit with malt caramel, plus floral citrus & resin pine notes and a lingering slightly spicy dry bitterness through to the finish. Nice viscous mouth feel, medium bodied, medium carbonation. Well balanced and very drinkable IPA.

2012 harvest. Aged a little. Torpedo bottle. Poured a lightb mahogany amber color with frothy head. Aroma is big grass, herb, pine. Medium light bitter. Medium light body. Light bitter finish. Again big grain, bread, pine flavors in taste. Not as fresh citrus flavors as I was hoping for. This could be due to the aging of the bottle. Overall not bad.

Bottle - Dark amber pour with good head. Aroma has the expected hoppy citrus notes, but also a surprising smokyness almost like a porter. Flavor is good with the smoke coming through, mouthfeel is good.
