3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Drank it from the bottle, so I cannot comment on its appearance (ducks head in shame). Aroma is rather malty and bready. Taste is more of the same with just a bit of carmely sweetness, a bit too cloying for me, but not bad.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Wal-Mart: Delicate aroma of caramelized malt with a faint whiff of dunkelweizen like yeast. Poured a dark amber liquid topped with a thin layer of foam. The drink is well balanced and has a mild flavoring of caramel malts and tasting very true to German Marzen style. Really good Oktoberfest just wished it was available in a 12 or 6 pack instead of this variety pack. I really didn’t want to be forced against my will to drink Tumbler again.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. The look is a foamy beige head, clear, and copper in color. The smell is dusty, malt, bready, cocoa, biscuit, and grainy sweetness. The taste is sweet, caramel, grain, bread, and dough.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
12oz bottle from Downer Wine and Spirits. Pours a dark, brownish Amber color with a tan head. Aroma is malty, caramel, a little raisin. Medium on the palate with average carbonation. Flavor is sweet, malty, rye bread, caramel, raisin, a hint of pine bitterness, with a caramel sweet finish. Top notch marzen.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
A nice deep oaken stained brownish color to it. Had a burnt brown sugar feel to it in both the aroma and body. Decent considering it didn’t fit the traditional oktoberfest mold.

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Nose is sweet bready, caramelized sugar. Flavor on the malt side is very complex for style ranging from toasted bread, nutty, biscuity, honey, crust. Hops are just enough to balance the sweetness contributing spice and herbaceous character.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Not a bad version of the style. Rich malt flavors, a bit of bite hop at the end (more than most oktoberfests which is good in my book) and clean profile.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Poured from 12 oz bottle into pint glass.
Appearance: pours a thick cream colored head that slowly falls with some lacing left behind. Color is a deep amber with moderate streaming carbonation.
Aroma: caramel and toffee, bready malts, and some earthy hop presence.
Mouthfeel: medium bodied with a dry finish.
Flavor: echoes the aroma with pleasant caramel and toffee blending with the rich bready malt and earthy hops.
Overall: outstanding and well done to the style.

A really dark octoberfest. Weak aroma but a solid taste. Good malty flavor. Good but nothing special.
