omhper (10728), Stockholm, Sweden Sep 26, 2008 Draught at Stockholm Beer Festival. Clear nut brown. Sweet and caramelly. Blown up cookie malt form a midsized body with clean edges. Toffee is more or less the one flavour. Finishes with fairly low bitterness. A beer with a pleasant surface, but no depth and no resemblance to the style it’s marketed as. kp (6300), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Date: 03/22/1997

very dark brown, fine tan head leaving a trail of thick lace in its wake, light sweet malt aroma with just a hint of hops, dry malt flavor with a touch of bittering hops coming out at the end, a hint of an ester in the finish, a little off style wise, but tasty

CaptainCougar (4664), Rockville, Maryland, USA Dec 21, 2006 Sampled on 10/11/06: Pours a clear copper mahogany with a nicely-lacing off-white head. Rich, authentic Munich malty aroma has good grainy character and a touch of noble hops. Body starts fairly full and malty drying some toward a more bitter toasty finish. Pretty true to style and drinkable. muzzlehatch (4424), Burlington, Vermont, USA Oct 21, 2005 Pint on draught at American Flatbread in Burlington. Very, very dark, maple-walnut, more or less clear, with a very creamy near-white head that lasts forever and forms a gorgeous thick lace...light mapley, caramel nose with roasty graininess, bitter grass/herbs...body is lightly smoky and at first, when cold, rather cardboardy and lactic towardst the finish. This seemed very unpleasant to start with but after allowing it to warm for 10 minutes, a nice subtle licorice-chocolate character comes out, dark pumpernickel breadiness appears, and the near-chalky finish smooths out and sweetens. Still not among the brewery’s finest offerings, but attractive enough at a proper temperature. DocLock (4170), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 20, 2006 Draft at DRE. Pours medium brown with aroma of brown sugar, caramel malt, some bready malt. Tastes caramel malty, with a bit of brown sugar, fruitiness, and spicy hops.
