Sampled at Brewgrass Fest. Coppery brown color with a medium-lasting tan head. Malt profil was more prominant in the nosong, but there was enough hops thrown in for balance. I was a bit taken aback by the hops in the finish. I COULD be wrong, but they seemed distinctly American Pacific Northwest to me. Still, a very drinkable beer, even if a bit anachronistic.

Pours darker than expected with a nice fluffy head. tasted very bland before warming up. warming up lent a lot more toffee flavor and sweet malts. creamy body. still a little too bland, i was expecting a hoppy rendition since it’s SN but this was very balanced.

Oct 15, 2008 Good stuff. Has a nice brownish color to it. Has hints of malts and hops. Has nice flavor complimented with hops and malts. Nice aftertaste in the end as well.

Oct 14, 2008 Beautiful deep amber pour with a thin eggshell colored head. The nose is subtly sweet malt. The flavor is more complex, with light smoke and a nice bready finish.

Oct 10, 2008 dark crimson with thin white head. aroma of dark malt. flavor is a nice change of pace for an oktbrfst. nice malty finish and a bit of spice finish.

Oct 7, 2008 Sweet with cherry flavor that fades into oak-ey alcohol maltiness. Great color and wonderful malt. Visually awesome burnt red when you hold it to the light. The malt really shines in this one, a wonderful Oktoberfest.
