I am a wheat beer girl & this is one of my top 2 favorite wheat beers! It has such a clean finish that I will recommend it to my friends that prefer a Bud or Coors Light.

Poured into a pint glass at Sierra Nevada Brewery. Colour is golden with a white head that hangs around throughout the duration if the beer. Beer is amazingly clear for a wheat. Flavour is crisp and clean, with some doughy notes. This would be a very nice beer on a hot summer day. Overall great wheat be flavour and great drinkability.

12 oz can- Pours mostly clear with a two finger bone white head, cobwebby lace. Aroma is wheat, coriander, pepper, clove. The taste is light and smooth, wheat, barley, peppercorns, clove. Very sessionable, could drink a case of this, much better than I was anticipating.

12oz bottle pours crystal clear gold with a one minute long quarter inch tall off white head of foam. The modest aroma offers up some tart citrus lemon and lime as well as faint sort of malts. The taste is on the vibrant side with a mix of lemon and lime citrus hoppiness that pulls up both bitter and flavor hops. It later picks up a pleasing yet mild degree of grainy maltiness that helps give it depth and character beyond the hoppiness. It ends with a good deal of citrus lemon to lime like hops. Fresh, crisp and yummy. Should be spot on during the heat of summer too.

This beer rocks. This was the 12th and final beer I tried while at the brewery. I really don’t remember much about it offhand, but my notes indicate that it was well hopped and citrusy. That’s all my notes indicate. Oh, I wrote that it was a terrific Summer beer. I was on the patio and it was well over 90 degrees. I was drunk beyond belief. Somehow managed to make it to the Butte Creek brewery immediately after I order a pint of the Brown ale and some dinner.

The first thing I noticed about this “Wheat beer” was the presents of “Hops”, much more than I expected, and it was a pleasant surprise. Color on the pour a nice “Chill Hazed” light to medium amber with the head humongous in size, creamy in its consistency, and bright white in color, as the head eroded the lace formed a concealing sheet upon the glass. Hops a nice hop floral followed closely by the sweet malt, fresh and crisp, a real treat, start was also malt laden, somewhat sweet and the top slim in its feel. Finish mildly acidic, hops to the forefront, desert dry and lingering aftertaste. Damn another great beer I get to sample on draught only once a year if the “Beer Gods” see fit.

UPDATED: OCT 18, 2009 On tap at RNH (NYC): Pale blonde pour, thin head. More of a feminine-style beer due to its tangy taste and light feel. Dangerously drinkable. #012 on 14062009, DG.

Draught at the brewery. Clear gold in color with a lasting creamy white head of ample size. The aroma is subtle but has a nice floral hoppy charactrer that mixes with fresh cracked wheat and malt, almost like fresh bitter wort. The flavor has a lot of wheat character but is generally clean from the filtration. There is just enough of a bready malt balance to keep the wheat in check as well. Dry and crisp with a tangy hop flavor and light bitterness that reminds me of apricot pit. Light bodied and snappy, but with soft carbonation that is ample but not agressive. A really well balanced and refreshing quaffer that was great to have while sitting on the brewery patio on a warm chico afternoon. A great beer to enjoy in peak condition, as I can see this getting flabby with some wear on it.

A - Pours a clear golden-yellow color with a finger of frothy white head. The head fades down fairly quickly leaving behind some light lace. S - Aroma is a mix of wheat with some orange zest and other citrus flavors, with some light grassy and floral hops. T - Starts off some wheat with some lemon and orange peel and bit of citrus hop. Through the middle, some grassy and floral hops come through with a touch of bitterness. The finish is a mix of wheat, lightly sweet malts, with some floral and citrus hops. M - Medium-light bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a sweet and dry finish. D - Very drinkable. Feels smooth and very crisp. A good session ale with enough flavor and balance to stay interesting.
