Ovila Abbey Quad with plums is heady with aromas of caramel, rich malt, and dark fruit-balanced by the spiciness and delicate fruity notes of a traditional Belgian yeast. This beer features sugar plums grown on the grounds of the Abbey, and harvested by the monks in Vina. We hope you enjoy this collaboration ale.

Pours deep mahogany into a trappist glass. Tan head with little retention recedes to skim surface. Dusty plum skin aromas. Sweet and full with dark pit fruit, warming fig and prune front to back. Lasting dusty brown bread and pumpernickel finish.

Very enjoyable quad! Reminiscent of Skull Splitter with more ABV. Sierra Nevada did a nice job with this plum brew. A cheaper alternative to Rochforte 10.

Pours a dark, chocolaty brown. So dark as to be black under low light. Small, quickly disappearing beige head of very fine carbonation. Licorice, candied fruit dessert wine contribute to this full bouquet for this brew. Sweet and inviting. Taste is chocolate covered liquor candies, leading to hint of tartness, some woodiness, a couple of layers malts that move from sweet to rustic, and raisins. Evolves as it warms, this drinks best after letting it set for a few minutes. Sticks to the gums, with the candied fruit sweetness, alongside of the tartness staying with you. Syrupy with a mouth feel of flat cola. Very enjoyable.

Pours an opaque black with red/brown hues around the edges, one finger light brown head. Nose is brown sugar and dried fruit. Medium to full body for a quad, very smooth, smokey in the finish, plums and molasses. Roast flavors also come through slightly dry/burnt finish. This is a great beer.

12.7 oz bottle. Dark brown with spotty foam. Nose is caramel, raisin, cardamom and cola. Coating medium body; despite the heat quite soft with a sexy tang. You can really taste the plums. A touch of tart works well to counter the toffee sweetness while adding fruity notes that compliment the spicy yeast.
