3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours a deep, burnt amber with surprisingly no cap. Aroma is a lot of plum, cereal, burnt caramel, a touch of sweat. Taste is a balance of sweetness and saltiness. Low carbonation, sticky mouthfeel, very late dry finish. This ones all over the board, but not in an unpleasant way.

Bottle from Brusiní Ales. Pours dark, dark brown with a thin brown head. Leaves trace lacing in the glass. Nice plum notes on the nose. Big fruit and molasses notes on the tongue. Finishes clean and doesnít leave much alcohol on the tongue. Nice!

Pours a mahogany color with a light tan head. Aroma is sweet of plums, yeast, caramel malts, and some spices. Flavor is strong of the plums up front with the yeast and spices after. Plenty of warming on the finish as well.

~Strong spicy belgian yeast phenolics, with caramel, brown sugar and dark fruit. Alcohol present in aroma.
~Pours a very dark brown almost black color with small off white wispy head.
~Rich malty flavors of chocolate, caramel, and roast, spicy belgian yeast with raisin, tobacco, and plum.
~Full bodied with medium low CO2, lingering spicy burnt finish with residual sweetness.
~A beer worth trying. I wouldnít buy again. Much better beers similar to this one I would rather have. Still enjoyed it and would be happy to drink more.

4.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
On tap at Fordís Garage Ft Myers,FL...beautiful purple black with a fantastic earthy-fruit aroma. Big and complex, yet subtle flavor of ripe dark fruit and well worn leather. This has a very vinous character to it and a nice silky mouth feel as well...awesome.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
A color that could only be considered purple-brown. The head is proud and gelatinous, shimmying a-this way and that atop the liquid.
The aroma is puzzling: first of all, very heavy yeast. But not the kind of yeast youíd think of as "Belgian" yeast, but more like banana and bakerís dough. The luxurious head has something to do with this: Iím coming back to it.....Okay Iím back: the plum really starts to emerge after the head stops blocking it and it warms up a bit.
The flavor is heavy yeast: more raw dough, banana and clove. The plums come in as a VERY weak accent. Once it warms up a bit, the raisin/plum flavor starts to emerge a bit.
The feel is a thick, yeasty brew; incredibly chewy. You absolutely *have* to let this one warm up a bit. I might even recommend pouring 1/5 of the bottle at a time. The yeast is almost a delicacy: Iím sure my primitive palate canít appreciate it. But I kinda wish it was toned down just a shade.
