COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ovila Abbey Quad with plums is heady with aromas of caramel, rich malt, and dark fruit-balanced by the spiciness and delicate fruity notes of a traditional Belgian yeast. This beer features sugar plums grown on the grounds of the Abbey, and harvested by the monks in Vina. We hope you enjoy this collaboration ale.

Nicely priced corked and caged 12.7oz bottle. Pours dark almost black with a reddish-purple tint and a thin, small fizzy beige head. Nose of grilled plums, fresh figs, bakerís chocolate, and softly powdery Belgian yeast. Taste adds a bit of sweetness and slight dryness. Small hint of spice. Really hits the fruit notes that the best Quads do but that American quads just canít grasp. Surprisingly fantastic.

Rich and burnt mahogany wood brown with a rich and dense sandy tan head. Very rich and dense aroma, dark dried fruits being the most dominant character. Candyish notes meld with an earthy unsweetened chocolate character. Rich dark fruit in the flavor. Some sweet pie spice shows on the finish. Medium full body with a soft palate.

12.7 oz caged and corked bottle. Pours dark amber with a medium creamy tan head that goes to a thin film that laces the glass some.

The aroma is bready malts, dark fruits, some floral wood, Belgian yeast and a bit of harsh alcohol.

The flavor is sweet woody floral malts, with dark fruits and some harsh charred alcohol. Itís got some off notes that I canít identify too (plastic and cardboard). The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, I didnít care for this. I remember it being fruitier with less off notes last I had it (still not great though).

pours dark brown with an off white head. Smells of yeast, rich malt, and plum. The taste of the plum integrates really well with the natural plum flavors of the quad.

375mL bottle, pours a dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma of brown sugar, plums and toffee - very well-balanced. Flavour is extremely well-crafted, with notes of plums, toffee, and brown sugar. Low-to-medium sweetness for the style. The plums offer a wonderful element without overtaking. Somehow this is way more elegant than the regular Ovila Quad. Really lovely.

Dark brown with a dense tan head. Strong aroma of peary esters. Taste is the same, and it finishes in tootsie roll dark fruit notes. Itís very nice, and easy to drink for its strength. $3.50/12.7oz
