3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma: lots of sweet fruit, figs and plums, caramel, candy, touch of cocoa.
Appearance: dark burgundy color, little head, no lacing to speak of.
Taste: big dose of plum, date, and fig up front. Dark sugars, caramel, cocoa, caramel malts, fairly sweet, low bitterness.
Palate: full body, carbonation is fairly low for the style, sweet finish.
Overall: nice brew, would have liked a bit more carbonation, but nice and complex flavor profile.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
dark brown with some ruby tones, big off white head. Lots of sugary sweet grape drink in the aroma, some dark fruit, booze. Peppery alcohol floating around on the tongue, almost herbal like qualities floating around in here as well. Finish is mildly sweet, boozy, big. Damn good for such a boring style.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. 3/23/13. Pours a deep brown-red with a bubbly, effervescent ligght-brown head. Aroma is Belgian yeast, candi, bubblegum, an amazing rich plum character, other dark fruits, spice, floral. Taste is sweet, spicy, fruity, tart, grapes, dark fruit, PLUMS, bready. I’m shocked to say that the Belgian yeast isn’t too aggressive in the taste. Very subtle here; I am not used to that out of most Belgian styles I’ve had. Some really nice lacing. Medium carbonation. Full, coating mouth feel. Well-hidden alcohol. Worth picking up!

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Comes out of the tap a rich, warm coffee brown with a decent, if not overly, persistent tan head that leaves generous lacing. Robust aroma has an overtone of plum and malty, banana and earthy notes. Satisfying flavor has a hearty fruity tone, plum plus some banana, as well as earthy, nutty and malty tones and an appreciable alcohol nip. Firm, thick texture leaves a fizzy, earthy, fruity and slightly woody finish. Let this sugar plum dance on your tongue.
