COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ovila Abbey Quad with plums is heady with aromas of caramel, rich malt, and dark fruit-balanced by the spiciness and delicate fruity notes of a traditional Belgian yeast. This beer features sugar plums grown on the grounds of the Abbey, and harvested by the monks in Vina. We hope you enjoy this collaboration ale.

Dark brown color with small off-white ring of a head and messy oily lacing. Aroma and flavor have huge malts with dark vinous fruitiness. Definite raisin plum notes in the flavor. Sweet and spicy- pretty good

Great caged cork, Belgian longneck bottle. Great label. Clear, deep bottle-brown beer. Big tan head that fades to a thin carpet. High appearance marks. Earthy, sweet, fruity, dark complex sugars in the aroma. Very smooth mouthfeel. Caramel and molasses on the frontend, then goes spicy and yeasty. Chewy, lots of complexity. Leathery towards the end, with a satisfying finish. Warming. Nice work. Market Square Liquors.

Bottle. Pours a deep, burnt amber with surprisingly no cap. Aroma is a lot of plum, cereal, burnt caramel, a touch of sweat. Taste is a balance of sweetness and saltiness. Low carbonation, sticky mouthfeel, very late dry finish. This ones all over the board, but not in an unpleasant way.

Pours a mahogany color with a light tan head. Aroma is sweet of plums, yeast, caramel malts, and some spices. Flavor is strong of the plums up front with the yeast and spices after. Plenty of warming on the finish as well.

Bottle from Brusin’ Ales. Pours dark, dark brown with a thin brown head. Leaves trace lacing in the glass. Nice plum notes on the nose. Big fruit and molasses notes on the tongue. Finishes clean and doesn’t leave much alcohol on the tongue. Nice!

This is a very rich, succulent beer. Appearance is ok w / a modest tan head , almost opaque, but clear garnet. Aroma is vinous yet malty& alluring. Flavor is ~ nose with enough tang & bitter to balance. Excellent body. Ditto finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle sampled at Classic City Brew Fest 2014. Pours a hazy copper brown with minimal bubbly head. Aroma is big on the dark fruits, both from the addition and the yeasty esters. Taste follows, nice malty balance and a bit of a boozy burn. Very nice, but I think I may like the original better.
