3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours dark amber with a fading head.
Nose shows sweet malt with caramel notes, soft phenols, a little mandarin marmalade and dried orange peel.
Malty flavours too, with just a faint saison note. More light mandarin, the peppercorn is very restrained.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20

Draft at The Bier Stein, Eugene. Pours a medium orange, little to no head. Aroma slight citrus, not much else. Body slightly arch, slippery character, pepper character a bit at the end, this honestly just functions really well as a Saison and wouldn’t think twice about added stuff. Nice.

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Presentation: It was poured from a very cool corked 12.7 oz bottle. The label has a brief description and lists the abv at 7.5% abv.
Appearance: The body has a nice amber color with a very slight haze. Carbonation is also lively and helps support the head. It’s head is creamy, off white in color and long lasting. Lacing coats the glass and slowly slides down the sides of the glass.
Smell: The aroma is full and inviting. It’s has nice fruity and yeasty notes. I get notes of clove, banana and fresh bread.
Taste / Palate: It’s flavor starts with light malt sweetness blended with fruity and bready yeast. I also pick up some light sweet orange notes. This quickly turns dryer as some dry yeasty spice notes and notes from the peppercorns move across the tongue. The finish adds a light touch of floral spice and mild bitterness. The palate feels smooth and creamy and it’s 7.5% abv is well hidden in its flavor profile.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Grumbler purchase from Breeze In, Juneau AK.
This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a transparent bronzed copper/orange color with a two finger white foamy head that dissipated within less than a minute. There wasn’t much lacing.
The aroma smells like someone took some oranges and sugar coated them and lightly spiced them with a peppercorn flavoring and then spiced them again with a light coriander.
The taste was extremely sweet with a decent under current of controlled spices of peppercorn and coriander. The aftertaste seems a bit different than expected as the spices take over which lead to dry spicy finish.
On the palate, this one sat right at a medium in body. There’s a really nice sessionable aspect about this that seems to encourage me to indulge in more.
Overall, what a nice smooth spicy and sweet saison. There’s even a slight refreshing quality going on. I might have to go back to the store just to get some more.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a semi dark amber with minimal tan head. Strong aroma of orange and peppercorns. Some belgian yeast notes come out in the straw and sweet clove as well as the smell of banana bread. Flavors burst in the mouth with sweet orange and bubblegum notes. Slight spice from the pepper. Not as dry as you'd expect from a saison. Very enjoyable.

Lovely saison with hints of orange and cracked pepper. Perhaps a touch of coriander on the finish.
