One of the best Saison's I've ever drank. Crisp with hints of orange and green apple. Excellent beer

Recieved this in a swag bag. Wow! One of the best saisons I’ve had,and it comes from SN?! Beautiful blonde color. Dry and citrusy. Perfect warm weather beer.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Pours mostly clear orange with small white fizz. Smells peppery, bready, a tiny bit funky, and surprisingly of citrus. Tastes peppery and like bready hay, rather earthy. Medium-bodied with a smooth texture and soft mouth-carbonation, Ovila Saison finishes soft and peppery.

Caged & corked 750mL bottle.
Golden pour. Thick white foam. Cork smelled of smoked wood, I suppose it was that freshly branded. Brew smelled of malts and yeast. Faint grass and citrus quickly followed, all in the nose. Tastes of straw malts, cirtus, a touch of eartht honey, and yeast. Finishes with more cirtus, a touch of lemon juice, and bread. This may be the best example of a Saison. I find lots of ill things in most Saisons, they are so gaseous for one. This beer finishes soft and light, the creamy head adds another element to the palate. So full of flavor, every ingredient had to have been blessed before, during, and after the brewing process. Spectacular.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
A light spice bubbly aroma. Looks are a slightly cloudy yellow. This is a simple saison, not a lot of spices, but the mellowness is really quite enjoyable. Reminds a little bit of Leffe blonde, but a bit more spiced up. Definitely like this more than the dubbel.

Earthy with some spice aromas. Nice foggy golden color. Nice spicy dry taste, with hints of fruit and citrus. A light body beer, silky and smooth. Overall a very nice refreshing beer.

Bottle with cork. Delicious beer. Outstanding, can’t say enough about this one. My new favorite. Glad the vintage wine cellar in maikiki choose to stock this one, haven’t seen it anywhere else. Perfect beer.

I agree with dwyerpg. Especially the Leffe thing.
A light spice bubbly aroma. Looks are a slightly cloudy yellow. This is a simple saison, not a lot of spices, but the mellowness is really quite enjoyable. Reminds a little bit of Leffe blonde, but a bit more spiced up. North Coast Le Merle destroys most of the competition with quality, flavor, price and value. This is good but i wouldn’t buy it again.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
750ml bottle - $9.49 at Olde Crabapple Bottle Shoppe in Alpharetta, Georgia.
Appearance: Pours a hazed, darkened gold body with a tall, white head that just fluffs out instantaneously.
Smell: Softly bready malts, with a bit of hinted at sweetness, a bit of tanginess to it, too. Little notes of lemony, zesty citrus, dew-moistened orchard fruits, and the humble banana. Modest spiciness.
Taste: Faintly grainy malts, some influences from malted wheat, maybe some pilsner as well. Light sweetness. Doughy, yeasty accents. Hint of sliced French loaf. Mild touches of bananas and tart orchard pears, maybe a sliver of Granny Smith apple and a couple basic white grapes, too. Pinch of finely ground spices. Sprinkling of flower petals. Scantly grassy, citrusy hops with ample bitterness present. A few drops of melon juice. Dry, fluffy finish with a light lingering tanginess.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Highly carbonated keeps things lively throughout.
Overall: Presents a good blend of flavors (more and more as it opens up), closes out nicely dry, and has excellent carbonation all the while. I liked it.
