3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
(750ml bottle from Papago). Pours a hazy orange-yellow color with off-white head. Active carbonation. Aroma has lots of wheat, some citrus and loads of yeast--much like a hefeweizen. Taste is sweet with some bitterness. There is a bit of an off-taste, but its not too distracting. Medium bodied with a creamy texture. Smooth finish. Not that traditional for a saison, but a decent beer. I though the dubbel was closer to style.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
A: pours a dirty grain colored ale with moderate haze and a three finger off white loose foam head. This falls rather quickly to a solid sheet of the same. No lace, wish there were.
S: Yeast, pepper, citrus and a hint of funk. Maybe a bit of plastic like whiffs at the back end. Meh, par for the coarse IMO.
T: The yeast is certainly the life blood of this one for me. The yeast is earthy and cloven - reminds me of Unibroue yeast, but toned WAY down (I hate Unibroueís yeast). There is a decent bitter bite with some evident sweetness and wheaty flavors. Again, some plastic flavor at the back end.
M: Medium bodied and sharply crisp with a dry finish. Here they hit the head nearly, prefer just the slightest resonance.
O: Well, Ovila is O for 2. Not a bad beer, not an exceptional beer, not even particularly above average. Really middle of the road with this one.

Wonderful light saison. Balances in all the right way, perfectly suited to my tastes. Pours a orange amber without a lot of head or lacing. Some floral aromas, Belgian yeast and lightly fermented fruit here. Abbey oranges integrate beautifully here. Finish equal parts light sweet and sour. Very nice beer - could drink this all night. Bottle.

On tap at Unos translucent amber with the great funk of a true barnyard ale. Light taste and easy finish.

Iím currently rating every SN brew Iíve ever had in one clean sweep.
I grew up on the classic SN Pale having it around during high school, and since have watched SN grow into a national representation of incredible craft beer. Living 45 mins away is a treat for the random growler fill. Keep up the amazing work and thanks!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours orange amber with spare, oily beige head. Aroma is malt, flowers, some orange/citrus and cinnamon/clove/spice. Taste is all of the above with a little more emphasis, mouthfeel is right, however finish is relatively short, and weak on the palate. One of the better American saisons Iíve tried.

12 oz bottle, roughly $3.79 at Andersonís; thanks, Dad. Pours light copper; fairly thin, almost-fizzy head. Aroma is dry, tangy, citrus, grass, yeast, grape. Dry, tangy flavor; citrus, bread. Medium-thin body with coarse, lively carbonation. Iím not really getting the pepper here. Not blown-away but good for the style.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap pour - opaque orange-gold with a thin white head. Relatively intense aroma that is quite unique - lots of yeastiness with a Belgian feel, wheat, spice, pepper...odd, yet intriguing. Flavor is more traditional saison, but maybe a smidge less spice and a bit more bready yeastiness (yep, technical term). Iíll add there was a slight hint of sour/funk in here that was intriguing...otherwise, definitely some peppery notes. Easy on the palate, this was a medium bodied brew. Overall enjoyable, though Iím not yearning for another taste...

Nice saison nose. Clear deep gold with good head retention. Very solid Saison interpretation with some subtle pepper.

Had a glass at Ashleyís in Ann Arbor as part of a sampler. This is s little disjointed. Good spice, but a little too sweet. Banana?
