Poured on draft into a shaker pint. Appearance is a translucent copper with a nice sized head of white foam. Aroma is very much like skittles. Sweet candy aromas waft up from the beer like nobody’s business. Taste is sweet with hardly any hop influence at all. Oddly, this is one of the first pale ales, if not the first pale ale, that I can say I prefer out of the bottle. It makes me wonder why the recipe is different for the draft version.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 burgess1984 (49) - ENGLAND - APR 7, 2012
Great beer, being a fan of the bottled version I was worried that it might not live up to its twin but I was wrong. The usual grassy flavours were there, a beer that gets more complex as you drink it and a beer to be savoured.
Less floral than the bottled version.

UPDATED: FEB 22, 2012 Pours a copper color with a 1.5 finger head.
Not much aroma, very light pine scent.
Light bodied pale ale with a nice balance of hops, pine, and floral notes. Daaaaaaaamn good pale. ;-) Since I’m a hophead I’m more likely to migrate toward Sierra Nevada’s Torpedo Extra IPA, but for those who prefer something a little less hoppy, I would suggest trying this and it could be a good way to ween yourself onto more hoppy beers.

On tap. Pours a clear golden copper with a small off white head that has good retention and leaves some light lacing on the glass. The aroma is floral hops, some light citrus, caramel, a light mineral note, and some light pine. The initial taste is sweet with caramel, and a bit of sugar cookie. Then comes some tangerine and floral hops. The finish has a light bitterness. Medium body. Medium carbonation.
