2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Classic staple of north America, before the IPA takeover, there was the APA. Pours amber, smells piney and floral. Taste is bitter and mild sweet. Moderate body, dry finish.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED AND SAMPLED ON 06/30/09:- Havenít had this in about a year or more, and was on sale at Publix for $6.99. Wanted to drink and review this in the privacy of my own home since I donít think I ever really bought a 6íer of this. Usually only had it out at a bar, club, or festival. Basically, was as I remembered....pretty much an average beer. It has good flavor at the start, mostly hoppy but seems a little watery or just a little off-balanced towards the hops. The aftertaste is both bitter from the hops, but also has a "mass-produced swillish taste"....kind of hard to explain. Had to downgrade this a couple points from my original review. Trying to buy some "economy beer" every now and then, but wishing I spent an extra 2-3 bucks for something I enjoy more.
.................................................. may be one of the most widely distributed micros out there. If at a bar, club, restaurant, etc. and given a choice between typical domestic, corona, heinekin, and Sierra Nevada....Iíll get the Sierra Nevada almolst every time! This is actually a little bitter for an american pale ale, something near a IPA, but if you try Sierraís IPA not as bitter as that. Has a golden color, decent amount of carb and head. A bit on the heavier side and leaves a slight metallic aftertaste, but a good overall beer.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nice golden amber color, the taste earthy and almost pine in nature, the hops are noticeable, but not over bearing.

Pretty classy flavour, doesn't excite as much as I was expecting but a great drink non-the-less. It's clean, its malty and pretty delicious.

A classic go-to beer. Dry. Some classic earthy hops in there with a little herbal hoppy spice as well. Just a hint of biscuit maltiness.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Oh, the venerable pale ale, how shall I count you?
A: Semi-clear amber color with a 1/2 inch off-white head. A hint of lacing.
N: Pine, earth, some toffee and biscuit. Peppercorns and leaves. Hint of toast.
T: Semi-bitter, not very sweet.
M: Light body, soft, fizzy carbonation, no alcohol presence.
O: Itís a classic, but itís restrained when compared to todayís hop bomb APAs. This is a great one to throw out at parties, however, because itís got just enough flavor to satisfy without making one feel guilty for serving Bud Light.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pleasantly dark for a pale ale. Aromas are hoppy, grapefruit and pine. Starts off with sharp, fresh hops, then into grassy pale ale notes followed by pleasant dry finish. Eminently drinkable and enjoyable.
